I don’t know why people have to drag in petty parochialism into every discussion! Pakistanis have the right to settle anywhere in the country regardless of their area of descent.
It seems that for the most part our choices have been narrowed down to Islamabad and abbotabad. Maybe there are a few more choices???

I can relate to this topic as i have lived in karachi fr 6 to 7 years between 2006 to 2012.back then we could easily find parking place where ever we go.though situation was even worse then but now whenever i visit karachi in my car.its like living a nightmare to find a parking place.whenever i park my car anywhere literally anywhere a guy shows up and says Sir yahan gari khari krna mana hai.
I hope im not alone who face such trauma.

Just a general comment. I myself love abbottabad but reality is that it has changed. I stayed at abbottabad in 2012 and 2014 (winters) in General Officers Quarters (GOQ) both times in Kakul Military Academy. Now visited abbottabad in December 2019 stayed at Hotel 1. Believe me it has changed. Very congested and dirty....

I relocated to Lahore after living all my life in Karachi. Ive now spent 6 years here.
Every person has different circumstances. For me Lahore is good. It is better developed. Law and order situation is better. No water and electricity shortage (atleast where I am living). Everytime I visit Karachi I thank myself for this decision. Last year my parents also shifted here and live with me.
The only major drawback which I face is lack of friends or you can say no friends at all. All my friends are in Karachi.

Islamabad is not far away and so are northern areas. You can pack your bags and be in Islamabad in 3-4 hours.
Weather is not perfect but it is something you get used to. Overall quality of life is better and there is less stress.
Real Estate is cheaper than Karachi.

I had an option to shift to Lahore and made up my mind in 1 day. No regrets ever.
