Fuel average practically achieved for corolla variants

Corolla 1.6 pre-facelift 2016 gives me 7-8km/L in my local driving with an insane amount of speed breakers, potholes, congested driving with reckless traffic coming from all ways. Speed 20-40 at most. With full-time A/C.

i had heard 1.6 gives better average compared with 1.3 auto and even 1.3 manual. Looks like its not that good on pocket compared with 1.3

Dude, I did mention that the driving has been done in my locality and NOT on the highway, the fuel average would be much better off driving in a smooth road than compared to the uneven, potholed roads of Gulshan-e-Hadeed.

My car is mainly used for school and grocery shopping which are in my vicinity, by the way.

Yes, 1.6 can provide better acceleration in lightfoot driving as compared to Gli, which will require a heavy foot to reach a similar power of a 1.6.

1.6 has more or less same fuel economy as GLi, but the point is; GLi is underpowered (even more with A/T) Also, stripped out of features.

Manual is better then auto gli for sure. Best value for money is altis 1.6 else grande 1.8

pre facelift and facelift 1.6 personally owned, does 12-12.5 in local islamabad and 14+ on the motorway.
Karachi usually has low mileage figures due to traffic congestions

I have prefacelift 2016 1.8cvti cruisetronic. I have driven it upto 84000kms now.
Fuel economy figures are following
Within city Lahore.
11-12km/l with ac
12-13km/l without ac on light foot.
On motorway
120km/h 16-17km/l cruise on
On highways
100km/h 17-18km/l cruise on

All fuel economy figures were calculated by fuel top up method.

Fuel economy figures of 1.8 cvti cruisetronic and grande are best. I used to have 2010 1.3 gli manual before and it didn't give me this good fuel economy figures.
1.3 gli auto or xli auto will give you worse fuel economy figures.

In America I own 2004 Corolla LE 1.8L 4-speed auto transmission w/overdrive (IMC equivalent to Altis). It is running about 515 miles (828 KM) each week. Its combined (60% Highway + 40% City drive) average fuel consumption is 36 miles per gallon (15.6 KM/L) with 5% of AC use (for defogging purpose). In winters -30 Celsius wind chill cause MPG to decrease slightly. Made in Japan.

Altis 1.6 2018, gives 12.5 km/l in city. Ac is always on, never been on highways in this car.

Corolla 1.6 2019, 11.5 to 12 in lahore city and abt 15 on motorway with speed ranging from 125 to 135.

So its true that altis auto gives Better average as compared to gli Auto? Is it worth putting in 3 lacs extra?
ps. My driving involves only city driving in karachi.
I will really appreciate if someone who owned both can share his opinion.

Yes 1.6 had much better performance and improved mileage over 1.3 Rolla. Put more and get 1.8..its more economical in Corolla variants .. alongwith extremely responsive in its class...1.6 is the choice...if ur in for Gli

The 1.6, if driven like a race car, in karachi, gives 8. If driven economically, it does 10. If you hypermil, somewhere close to 12.5
