Gas gyser modification has any one tried it

Ok guys it was annnounced last year that SNGPL has developed some rod which if fitted in gas gyser will improve the efficiency of gyser ...i want to know if any one has tried it and if yes where to find it in lahore

RAWALPINDI (APP) - The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has introduced a new technology to save up to 33pc natural gas consumed by geysers during the winter season, said Deputy Chief, SNGPL Islamabad Region, Squadron Leader (R) Javed Khan.
Talking to APP here on Thursday he said the device has been indigenously developed by the SNGPL’s Business Development Department and it is now being installed on experimental basis in Islamabad and Lahore.
“We have installed about 1,000 cone baffles in Islamabad and an equal number in Lahore and their results would be assessed in March by comparing the individuals’ gas bills with the previous year ones,” he added.
Javed Khan said only the Islamabad region, ranging from Sarai Alamgir to Attock, has about 650,000 consumers and about 500,000 of them have installed geysers to get warm water in winter months.
He said if the project’s results prove positive then the product would be outsourced and all the 2 million SNGPL’s consumers could reduce their gas bills by using this technology.
Describing the new technology he said a stainless steel made cone filled with gypsum powder is inserted into the geyser’s tank which helps in heating water evenly from top to bottom in a shorter period of time.

The SNGPL Deputy Chief said that the saved gas could be used for productive uses such as industrial production, fertilizer factories and CNG CNG Compressed Natural Gas

He said the SNGPL is charging only Rs. 600 for inserting cone baffle into the geysers and if the user wishes it can be split in three equal monthly instalments of Rs. 200 only. The SNGPL has also asked the gas consumers to use quality gas appliances including room heaters and cooking ranges to cut their monthly gas bills. It believes the unnecessary use of geysers and room heaters inflate the gas bills many times.

We have instant gysers in our home. One gyser for each washroom, kitchen.
And it saves alot of gas. + you do not have to wait for warm water if your washroom is far away from the location of gyser.

this is called a conical baffle. it was developed by students of uet. it is placed in the exhaust of the pipe so that the smoke stays in longer and so the water is heated faster and more economically. it reduces bill by about 20%. i have it in my home geyser. but you need to find a good installer otherwise they mess up perfectly good geysers during the installation

it can be used in both cases but it will work only if you get good gas pressure

You can use it for every thing in your washroom.
For increasing gas pressure you can change the valve of gas pipe to which the gyser is to be connected.

The gas shortage is becoming terrible. I suggest that we should get rid of the conventional geysers and go for alternate.

Solar water heaters are very common in China ... and in Nepal, every roof top shows one solar water heater.

I just got this photo from an ad on and the seller has demanded Rs. 30K.

It is really a nightmare to use conventional geyser during gas shortage period in winter. In my area, the gas shortage persists till about midnight, so I had to get out in chilled weather to try and light up the geyser.

I think a practical solution is to have a solar water heater, and one 12 lit capacity low pressure instant water heater in each bathroom and also in the kitchen

I am planning to do it InshaAllah, when I start building my house this year
