Gas smell in passo 2006

I have toyota passo 2006 model. It is giving a strange problem. While driving sometimes a very strong smell of sui gas starts coming in the cabin. I have been driving witnout ac. Plz advise what might the problem?

Get all cng fitting checked asap...

He will check it by putting soapy water on all pipes gas kit and cylinder valves etc...

Treat this problem urgently, and if you are using cng as secondary fuel then turn of cng valve from cylinder till you get it solved...

Vehicle does not have cng installed. Driven on petrol always

If you are sure that it is of sui gas and not of petrol then it might come on specific route... i dont think it is the problem of your car rather than it is the problem of your route there might be gas leakage...

It definitely comes from car as i have noticed in different places and it is strong smell. Not tht of petrol but smells like sui gas

take your vehicle to professional automobile AC shop, they can check for any punctures in the HVAC system.

puncture means something very miniature in size. That can be smelled even if car engine is off and car is parked cabin windows closed.

The natural gas mankind use as fuel is odorless tasteless in nature, different 'flavors' are added at filling / distribution plants to identify in case of leakages.

guess the name of gas known as laughing gas

Methane is natural gas which will fill from cng stations​
Laughing gas is NO2​

BTW i was trying to say if he is not using ac then most probably there will be something wrong with ac system
Might be there will be no gas in system...

But @shaikh229 will confirm it if there is gas or not

the gas at CNG stations / domestic gas line to our homes, contain a gaseous compound of methane, nitrogen, CO2, propane, and ethane.

may be even CNG station owners' doesn't know the composition. Any member into oil & gas field can correct me if otherwise.

Yes i also think these are in natural gas but i think in very small amounts as impurities and as you say any member in oil and gas field can correct us... As we all love to learn new things

Car ac gas is odourless too, the oily smell you smell at ac shops is the refrigerant oil.

Sir ac is out of order since more than a year due to gas leakage in inner coil i suspect as at tht time smell of ac gas was coming i the cabin and ac guy refused to fix it coz he said engine is weak. So im driving without ac for more than a year. I dont think there is any gas left in the ac system

I have a feeling that you have bacterial colonies and fungi moulds in ac vents and evaporator.
