my generator consumes all the oil in 9 hours time. no leaks no smoke just blakish stuff on silencer. it has clocked more than 2200 hours
My generator is also consuming oil every 10 to 15 hours . i also found blackish stuff on silencer and my generator also gives white smoke for few seconds when start or when refill oil no leaking found but today i remove the plug and saw little bit oil on it with some black stuff.

Is it possible to open generator head without opening the whole engine ? im going to change the gasket and ring piston
it is possible to open head with out opening engine, but you wont be able to change ring/pistons until you open up engine.
atlast got my engine full overhauled with new a head.now its running on petrol for a while before i shift to gas

Which is the most suitable engine oil for a Grannito 2.5 kVa generator? Mostly run on gas and sometimes on petrol too.
I have a honda ep6500cxs. It is 2.5 years old and has run appox 2750 hours. There is no visible smoke and the air filter is clean but my generator consumes 500ml of oil in just 30 hours. There is no sign of spillage whatsoever. It usually runs on gas but i make sure to run it on petrol for one hour every week. The mechanic says the oil is evaporating due to high temperatures on gas.Is there a solution for this or is he right?
so far my engine still reduces oil in 20 hours & oil sensor comes into action.how is the quality of these new engines available in market for rs 14k??

I think oil ring on piston is not working or rings opening are inline instead of opposite directions. Could be due to oil also. Use Caltex motor oil or Total-B.

Can anyone tell me what is piston bore My mechanic told me something like this i don't have much info regarding this but he told me if you want to overhauled your engine so you must bore you piston but in this thread nobody discussed this thing. please let me know is this mandatory or not
