Generator Engine Overhauling & ATS Dedicated Thread ( Advice , DIY, Repair ,Install)

@hanimughal ... yes, at present i am using a 1200va ups. This UPS is now about 5 yrs old and the present batteries r now about to die.. So i am thinking of replacing it with a good geny, which can give me peace of mind and long life.. I dont mind paying a bit extra from the chinese generators, but HONDA JAPAN is out of my budget. The honda of 2kva which is for about 60-65k i think is chinese and furthermore it is recoil, so family cannot switch it on, so i am looking for a good good chinese branded gen set.. and i need to put everything in place maximum by starting of Ramadhan

In my opinion OES(cummins) AND JASCO are good chinese brand as both of them are quite old in the market

Then i heard about this ATS, so i got interested in it too, as giving convenience to family would be great.. but if something good is available in cheap price then i dont want to spend anything extra, but i dont know much about these electric/gen things, so i dont think that i can make an ATS or put relay etc etc, therefore i am still a bit confused

So u know, i buy it for Rs7500/- and then get it installed for Rs1500/- and smart pw members like you are getting it for only 2.5k - 3.0k, this confuses me again

i had tried both Bush and Denso plugs ... but my generator plugs getting black from top every week and because of that generator starts after 3 to 4 try ... when i open plug and clean it with cloth than generator start at once ..... what issue making plug black from top ( the pont which we insert in generator body)

bro the ats which i got it from the company here i got it for 30k
hahaha:p and now inside all i see is a same 2500rs kit ...
with few extras..
trust me it looks a bit hard but all u need is just a common sense in connecting all thats what *agoodfriend taught us ..
well for the same thing for family.. i got this installed... yamaha ,cuz my chinese was recoil /and only 2.5kwa /never started on natural gas, but with the help of this thread agoodfriend i turned my even old loncin into electric start/ made n ats aswell.. and all gas trouble went too.. its just that i didnt know that time and use to belive on mechanic's and there sayings like gas ka pressure kam hai nahi hoga and blah blah..but now after getting to know the basics and logic behind .. i got it..and every generator even if its Chinese or Japanese they do need fixing at some point..as u know the situation of load shedding these days they run more then our car's now..here 12hours .. so obviously they do need some fixings after some point..

brother not really sure.. but plug even gets a bit darker just after u tight it,denso should work right ..at how much gap are u using it?
it needs a 0.4mm gap if you dont have a feeler gauge.. most of the car mechanics got it take it to any one and ask them to adjust it at 0.4mm for you.. and then try..and ur starting it on ng right?

Haven't seen or heard my generator for about 2 weeks now. Its on third floor and I am on first floor. ATS working flawlessly MASHALLAH 6 hours a day. tomorrow will go to the roof for cleaning and oil change.

2.5kva he bought it on april 1st 2012, yea running and starting on natural gas.. he did the same mod with ng kit wat i and agoodfriend did..with our ng kits,n he's using homemade ats..

my generator is giving sort of smoke visable , neither white nor black
and engine oil consumption is high

sign of leak piston rings ,,,,,,,,need overhaulling now

high fuel consumption is making is black,,,,,,,,,,,,,try adjusting the mixture on carb and also the T valve on gas kit

What was the price..I think loncin is cheaper than jasco and oes (cummins)
