Geyser recommendation

Salam all,

I have been in market looking for Singer small 18 gallon Gas geyser but apparently they have stopped its production and not available for this season.

So I looked for others like S.G and National... Are these both reliable enough for long use?

What gauge should be preferred (didn't know about this before)... The standard 12x14?

Would appreciate quick replies\experiences as need to get it tomorrow or day after latest.

Singer small 18 gallon is easily available in islamabad and rawalpindi region ,,,,,,, and its in production till today ,,,,,,,,,,,,

may be that model is not available in karachi ,,,,,, as now singer geasers are produced in gijrawala by a company name Welcome industries ,,,,,,,,and they have many brands names like axle , axis , indesit , technogas etc ect ,,,,,, and yes nasgas 15gallon is as good as singer ,,,,,,,,,

Thnks for the response.... indeed that model of singer is not available here.

I hv only 2 options in front of me as of now.... SG or National.... My friends are recommending national more than SG

I also have done too much research before opting geyser gir my home. Singer geyser served very well in my home for 24 years but due to placement in open environment and direct exposure to rain and sunlight damaged its body with rust.

I will suggest you to go Nonari brothers, Opposite Urdu Science College stop, Gulshan-e-Iqbal near NIPA Bridge.

They have variety of guages ranging from 8 to 20 or even more with perhaps ranging from 10 years warranty to Lifetime warranty.

I also opted SS sheet for my home, if your water supply is from boring or well means Hard water then you can also get customized as per hard water spec. from Nonari geysers

Yes then 10 guage or 12 guage will be fine for you. Thermostat is same universal FROM USA made..... Same as it is present in Singer, nagas or any other good brand.

If you will use such brand solution, you will be in comfort zone for next 20 to 25 years Insha Allah

none of the geyser use original Robertshaw Unitrol thermostat. its nearly 10-12k for the thermostat alone.

all use copy of the unitrol or refco thermostat

How to check the originality? One of my singer geyser served 24+ years from 1995 till 2019 with same thermostat; before that, there was also 1 old geyser in my home which lasted 43 years from 1975 till 2018 and now this new one from Nonari; this also has same Thermostat (at least apparently); surprisingly all of them have Lifetime warranty but never faced thermostat issue ever in any geyser; its always body in my case due to which we had to change it

I would recommend you make your own by order from a fabricator that you or someone else know is reliable. For the drum, use 10-12 gauge of sheet and a good quality central pipe. I have heard that some people also do electro plating of the drum, so do ask about that too. Make sure there are no joints in the central pipe. Also keep in mind to put thick layers of fiberglass. Buy a good quality imported thermostat (I forgot the name but there was one popular in here for long). This custom geyser will work more than 20 years in-sha-Allah.

Heart of the geyser is it's thermostat. Singer as per my knowledge makes two types of geysers. One has original Robertshaw and other one is local TESLA brand thermostat. I have bought the RShaw one as it lasts a life time.
All other makers use either refurbished RShaw thermostat or local ones which are not reliable. Glass wool quality also matters.
In open market you will hear this one is SS sheet, or made in a heavy gauge but no one will tell you about the thermostat that is used in it which is the most critical part of a geyser. Reason is only singer has the sole agency of RShaw

thermostats dont go bad normally. its always the body. price is the only point defining originality.

Yes, but most of the brands use cheap thermos, that don't last long so you have to change it once in a 2-5 years max. Good thermos last very very long.
