To confirm the converter actually is plugged, you need to test the pressure in the exhaust before the converter, if you are getting more than 1 psi there, you have a blockage.
If its less than 1 psi even on sudden revving then your exhaust isnt blocked, your problem lies elsewhere.

Btw you dont need to import a corolla compressor, thal engineering have it in stock almost all the time for a very reasonable amount.
Using an old clutched style compressor on a system that is monitored with a pressure transducer and an evap temp sensor is not a good idea. The old style systems used an analog dual pressure switch and an evap thermistor cutoff.
