So the motorway police has become quite nasty. They have setup a speed limit of 40kmph on a 3 lane highway and they are sitting at the bottom point of slopes where the cars tend to accelerate.

Technically, I don't keep the brake pedal pressed to avoid overheating the brakes and usually use the brakes intermittently to slow down as keeping the brake pedal pressed and then resultant overheating of brakes could be dangerous. As they sit with their cameras on slope end's so you easily tend to go beyond 40 kmph. So it seems more like a legal robbery rather than a safety measure.

Not really encouraging the overspeeding here but the speed limit of 40kmph is way less than what it should actually be. I mean, you can drive down from babusar at around 70kmph.

Another problem is that I never saw any car going at 40 or lesser, instead most were around 60 which is somewhat quite reasonable, so it seems like the 40 limit is there just to create an opportunity to extort from people there.

Also 120 km/hr is way too less for such a buttery road. 140 should be allowed.

Rules are rules, technically they can fine beyond 40kmph and they did.

It used to be 60 . If it is revised to 40 then it is very slow.

BTW in dubai, we have stringent controls than in pakistan and very high fines.

Motorway driving on 3000 CC or 1000 CC has become equal and only thing we can enjoy is high torque and acceleration for short burst only.

Drive in lower gear. Although never got challaned at 40. Normally at slope I try to keep it around 45 at the spot where there is police

Very close to the Hiran Minar, I was tail gating just behind a tucson around @125kmph, the police guy jumped into the second lane and signaled the tucson down, the driver slowed for a moment and then tried to run away and suddenly the MP car gave the hooter and signaled a chase to the tucson driver. So the thing is, I again was lucky enough to avoid it due to that tucson who had just over taken me.

The lesson learned is that if you drive behind a speeding vehicle, you are less likely to be pursued or caught.

No lower gear in auto transmission. And the engine goes crazy rpm when using paddle shifter. So another problem.

My Civic has D3, 2 & 1 while CVT has D then S & B. B should do the work.

Does it not has L or D1, D2 ?
Fortunately my auto also has manual shifting so it shifted to manual for going down hill.

D and S only. S is for manual shifting. Engine RPM goes crazy on downshift.

Whats the point of going beyond speed limit, on a downhill road, that is slippery too? No justifications for that.

There is an emergency landing point for air crafts on motorway, means it is capable of handling much higher speed, but it never means one is allowed to go along with speed of jets.

I find this post as most drivers says after accident, "meri koi galti nahi thee, mai to wrong side pay aram say ja raha tha, samnay walay na nahi dekha"

You are absolutely right Man.

There is absolutely a point in extorting money from people by sitting a kilometer apart.

Moreover, the green number plate or blue light vehicles shouldn't be stopped as they are useless people and should be left to die.

The sensible people should not object to the partial justice or partial application of rules as it is important for the life and safety.

There is absolutely no point in clearing the rickshaws/carts parked in the middle of roads so that commuters/tax payers can commute safely and quicky for their work/jobs because the poor people have every right to the road and police can't do anything.

The lives/time of commuters should only matter when law enforcement can issue a challan rest it never matters and even registering an FIR for murder is a crime in this country.

The half brain people should be allowed to give face palm or maybe a physical slap to the people who have this holistic thought process so that the idiots can live peacefully.
