GPS Help needed

Hey guys i bought a navigation system with a touchscreen, it has dvd player, usb, gps, ipod etc. Following are the pics

My problem is that i want to add maps to it, is gps antenna required for just installing maps too or i maps can be viewed and installed without gps antenna??? Please help guys

It depends on the make and model of the unit, but generally maps can be updated without GPS signals. The only problem is going to be that the unit will not know WHERE it is on the new maps or the old without a GPS signal.

you need maps of ur city and save it in sd card.yur manual tells u format of map and how u put map in ur memory through sd card

Nice to see your GPS device, similarly I have bought Double Din system from China with built in GPS. I have gone through a lot of trouble trying to find the right Maps for my device. First of all IGO would not work with this system since Maps available for this region are not compatible with IGO. This device has a slot where you can insert a SD card.
1) First download Garmin Mobile XT
2) Download Google Maps for Pakistan
3) Integrate the Garmin Mobile XT with Pakistani Map
4) Insert it inside your SD card and load put it inside you device.
5) You are ready to go

You must be wondering why I can’t use any other software other then garmin
1) For Pakistan PKmaps, google maps and NAQsha maps are available which are only compatible with garmin
2) This device uses Windows C.E processor
3) Garmin Mobile XT is only compatible with Windows C.E processor.
4) That is why you will have to download Garmin Mobile XT
You must be having questions about these Maps
1) PKmaps are developed by individuals residing within their city
2) Google maps offcourse are developed by google with very good details
3) You will have to pay for naqsha maps so if you can afford this then go ahead.

I would recommend google maps for Pakistan and let me make life easier for you.

for how much you got this unit for, because not all units come with a builtin GPS.

thanks for the link talhawaleed but i downloaded it and when i run it, it gives me error that its not a valid application. and the maps are the iso image?? and if possible can you give the setup link?

How did you ran it. You will have to unzip the files and then copy it inside the SD card.

Once you will insert the SD card in device then you will have to give proper in your Navigation Panel in order for your device to load the software or boot from the path given

ah ok i thought i had to run it in windows to add maps etc, i'll run it tonight when i get an sd card

1) Remember that your device has a default Navigation software running on it
2) Where you will have to go to setup and prescribe the proper path
3) Then once you given this path then device will load the files as required
GarminMobileXTforWindowsCE_50020w\Garmin\RunGMXT\Garmin.exe
4) Then another software will run which will be garmin by device directly from SD card

In order to test if the Navigation System is properly running then goto the default Navigation Panel
1) Go to Monitor
2) Check the output in NMEA format & number of satellite it is catching
3) Off course GPS antenna has to be connected with the device
