Grande handling issue

My altis grande 1.8cvti 2014 has a poor handling after i cross 150km/h. I had an aqua 2015 previously which would always stick to road at all speeds. I have had a civic rebirth aswell and it also had a better handling at this speed

Firstly is it normal for this car Owing to its higher center of gravity or i need to get it inspected?

Secondly what should i do to improve its road grip?

Thirdly the brakes do not perform well as well. Is it the same with all the corollas?

PS : Please dont advice me to drive slow in this thread as i did it only for testing purpose on an empty road. I am a cautious driver otherwise

Well poor handling is something that is a part of this Corolla due to its higher center of gravity. Personally civics are the best in terms of handling. I disagree about the brakes though braking is excellent in corollas IMO. How many kms have your driven the car and have you had the brakes changed?

Just by the way these cars are NOT meant to be driven at such high speeds. Even if you do drive fast don't expect the best preformance since that is not the intent of these vehicles. For your safety and the safety of others I urge everyone not to drive very fast. In your case it is understandable since the roads are empty.

yes your right i too have faced this issue because of the poor road grip and raised height the car doesnt stop where you want it too rather it keeps on going even when braking from 60 km/hr and i think this has to do with how the car is engineered and balanced which is poor in the case of corolla.

Yes there is hell of a difference between road grip and handling of honda be it civic or city and corolla even the seating position is bad in corolla and feels numb to drive.

yes the brake problem is same with all corollas i too have grande and the car keeps on going one can feel the weight of the car on the front two brakes.

i drove a civic the other day it was even easy to make turns in it and was exciting to drive and obviously just like i expected braking was waay better and i felt connected to the road which is not the case at all with grande.

I do feel corollas are more comfort oriented and Civics lean more towards being sporty.

What tyres are you using?

you will have to drop your car
change all 4 springs to performance ones
let the shocks remain OEM so you dont loose comfort

Alot can be done but still it's not worth it for 11th gen corolla as its not designed for handling. You would be compromising comfort and practicality for handling and stability by doing:

1. Change 15 inch rims to 17/18 inch rims with sporty/sticky tires.
2. Lowering springs and TRD coilovers + shock absorbers (to make the suspension stiffer)
3. Add Spoiler and aerodynamic Bodykit to increase downforce.
4. Add Strut bar and anti-roll bar at rear torsion beam (to reduce bodyroll)

Bro driving this car above 150km/hr is close to suicide anyways so dont take it to that limit.

Grande Suspension drop (Lowering the raised rear )

Has this improved the brakes aswell? I would surely go for it. I hardly load the rear of my car. Almost all the times i am the only one driving

obviously the lower the car the better the road grip and stability, the brakes are not at fault here the car is . The problem will be better than before but at the cost of apending money. I tell you still you cant expect it to be fully stable even after doing the above mentioned as the make and shape of the car will be the same.

But people are facing hte same issues with newer models. As these old model were also famous to move tot he left side. I have seen few new models as well got hit because of moving to the left side or even roll over ffrom the left side.
