I own a pre-facelift 2.0. Spending 9-10 lac extra for HEV just for fuel savings makes absolutely no sense. 2.0 is also faster than HEV.

How much do you think an extra drive shaft and a rear differential weigh compared to the weight of a lithium ion battery and a motor?

I wasn't comparing the two, but much rather talking overall about cars with AWD and then without. It goes without saying that the hybrid is even heavier. Sorry for the confusion

Your concern is absolutely valid. Although I have placed an order for Haval myself, I believe that if such an issue has occurred, the company should investigate and identify the cause. This can happen to one of us as well.

Your concern is extremely valid and should not be taken lightly by Sazgar. By and large, Chinese cars do have unique issues. One such issue was faced by an H6 owner in China, where he was unable to disengage cruise control while on highway.

Well i appreciate the acknowledgment of the severity of this issue guys.
Yesterday sazgar told me that “the complaint have been forwarded to relevant department, they will get back to me with a solution”
Today they’ve asked me to visit the service center.
The women rep at the service center instantly booked me for oil change but when i told her the visit is not for oil/parts change, she reluctantly asked me to text her the details of the issue and she’ll let me know in the morning!
So anyone wondering about the after sales service of haval

I agree his concern is valid and should be investigated and resolved on priority by Sazgar. But I have seen cruise not disengaging issue in Japanese as well. Someone crashed his Honda Civic X on motorway 3 years ago because the cruise didn't disengaged. This was reported on Voice of Customer Facebook page as well.

In the facelift haval h6 what if I accidentally press the columb shifter thinking that its indicator, will the gear engage while I am driving?

Please delete this post. JDM cars are made in Jupiter they cannot have any issues. Only Chinese cars are allowed to have issues.

You have to really go out of your way to do that but I think some safety measures are in place so the car won't go to parking if you put it in P at 100km/h.

You cannot compare a claim (Civic X PKDM) vs fact (H6 in China, where police got involved and became a news story). I am not against H6 or any other Chinese or Japanese car for that matter. I am only rambling here on the obvious ignorance on part of Sazgar here. They should not haven taken such complaints lightly, especially given the backdrop of issues being reported.

I have pre-facelift 2.0
- Power is good, AWD is handy if you're going to put it through a mildly rough terrain where traction is needed. The only 2 cons for me are the front grill (which is the same on the facelift now), and the fuel average. I get 7-7.5 in city. For comparison my 1.6 altis used to give me 10.8-11. I am not sure if the new transmission is going to help with fuel average, but it is something to consider if it is something that matters a lot to you. If it doesn't, I'd take the spare wheel, paddle shifters and AWD over HEV any day.

Guys i visited the service center , the boys listened keenly about the issue, they said there’s no way to check deeper logs or system events beyond what the OBD scan shows (which came out clean). no active faults, no stored errors, everything looked fine on their device!

I feel there’s no definitive way to diagnose what actually happened. Since i didn’t document it better when it happend,so unless it occurs again i dont think i can do anything about it.

the car’s been working fine since then. i’m hoping that it was just a one off glitch. They also told me no other owners have reported this issue ever, so maybe it really was just a freak moment or something.

until or unless it happens again, i guess it is what it is

I have done that several times while driving and nothing happens. Gears don't change on a moving car as well as gears don't change on a parked car either without seatbelt on.. so the car doesn't let you mistakenly use the column shifter as indicator

I think they have removed paddle shifters from all variants in FL. also the sparewheel is now standard in HEV in FL. So AWD remains the only difference.

What about upgraded soundsystem? I read here somewhere its only in 2.0
