Is someone seriously thinking that a Fortuner is in any way comparable to a Tank 500?
It is bigger than a Prado and outclasses even the current 5th generation Prado (LC250) in terms of power, features and luxury. If Sazgar sells it in the same price bracket as a Fortuner, it would most likely be loosing money.
The top spec Tank 500 (PHEV Hi4-Z) has 850 hp and almost 1200 Nm of torque. This variant will likely not be sold outside of China however. We're most likely getting the Hi4-T variant, which can do 400 hp and 750 Nm of torque (pre-FL at least).
Even if we do a straight 2x of the H6 PHEV price and adjust for additional duties and taxes because of the bigger engine, it would be around PKR 30 million at the very least. It's a miniscule market to begin with so there's no point trying to go for sales volume at this segment instead of maximizing profit margins.
I'm probably a bit biased in my opinion here because I think the Land Cruiser and Prado (apart from the 250) are one of the worst vehicles around. Seriously, just think about what kind of a person consciously chooses to buy a Fortuner, Prado or Land Cruiser? Sazgar is never going to be able to sell anything to that person anyways.
