Looks like you have done all the damage already.
Kindly bleed your system, replace thermostat, add coolant. Buy FUCHS 4 ltr. It is available at Hascol pumps for 13-1400.
Drive and see if it overheats.
If it does, check head gasket. It is one of the classic reasons for the system to not siphon water from overflow tank.
Also check the little pipe that connects rad and overflow tank.
Bring the system back to its factory specs. Sometimes just putting back T-stat will solve many problems. As xulfiqar mentioned, the coolant might not even travel through the radiator in the absence of tstat.
Few days ago, a friend's indus corolla was heating up. We flushed the system with liqui moly flush, added coolant and replaced T-stat. The mechanic was not ready to put the t stat back even though we went to him just for fitting as we did rest of the stuff overselves. Anyways prior to this whole operation, he was blowing steam from overflow tank and temp would climb up to upper quarter. Now he runs in the middle no matter how hot it is outside(with AC)
