Help:Corolla 2010 Altis 1ZZFE, Low Oil Pressure

Hello Gentleman.. I have a Corolla Altis 2010 as written in description.. Been in my ownership since 2015.. Previously I was using Shell 5W30, however due to lock down and car getting beyond 6000km I had to put Honda Genuine 5w30 made my total.. Now car in the morning at idling or if I engage a gear idles roughly and turns off.. Starts up again without any problem. No crackling sound.. Car doesn't reduces oil whatsoever.. Whenever it turns off It displays low oil pressure.. I checked the gauge today.. Oil is midway between 2 dots.. Normally I pour 4 litres into it.. But last time I did not change the oil filter because couldn't find one so I poured 3.75.. Now what to do??

What I am planning to do is to change the oil today to shell 10W40, change the oil filter, get the throttle body and spark plugs cleaned..
However I fear that WHT if oil pump is faulty which may damage the engine.. What does a faulty oil pump shows to you..
I talked the mechanics they say pour 20w50 which I don't want to as my car is weekly driven around 800-900kms and on motorway.. I want to keep a synthetic oil which given better efficiency too..

no sir the issue is in the oil pump going dead.

please do not use any other engine oil but 10W-30 or 5w-30

as you have mentioned the symptoms the oil pump is faulty and need to be replaced.
while mechanic work on oil pump ask him to remove oil sump and access the oil pickup strainer. Clean it thoroughly before installing new oil pump.

after that change oil filter and use fresh engine oil.

oil pump is faulty which may damage the engine.. What does a faulty oil pump shows to you..

oil pressure drops and oil light appears as well as Check engine lamp (CEL) will also pop

Mine is just loosing rpm while at 1100, like rough idling and than turning off..

losing RPM have plenty of reason. air box choked, faulty throttle body etc etc

Does engine has to brought out to change oil pump.. And please suggest a good mechanic who listens.. My mechanic isn't willing to change oil pump and insisting on 20w50..

kick your mechanic under the belt. goto spare parts shop buy a new oil filter drive to a Shell service station providing oil change services. Change oil filter and change engine oil to 5W- 30 or 10W-30. check oil level after change & start for 5 minutes, all ok, drive safely.

Mine altis doesn't have catalytic converter.. This is what I have believed all along.. The catalytic converter came after 2010..
