I have just heard on tv that federal government has allowed KP, GB and AJK to make decision regarding opening of tourist destinations under SOPs issued by government.
What SOP would a nation follow who is still confused whether covid 19 is genuine or not. Despite of so many casualties most people even in lahore don't wear mask. So it's hard to imagine how many people would be wearing mask in remote areas. Another thing is that most of people think our government is bluffing about the death toll to get some aid from Bill Gates which he has never announced. Why people think Bill Gates is a dumb person to give thousand of dollars for a causality. Bill gates will go bankrupt if he pays only for Us casualties. Even US president has repeatedly said that we are going to stop funding WHO and we assume that they would rain dollars on our government.
In my opinion this year we should not tour northern area, kpk and kashmir. These area already lack in medical facilities like hospitals, ventilators, testing kits, etc. So when tourist visit they will bring along covid virus and get local people infected and that may cause casualties and then we will say government has not provided enough medical facilities in northern areas. Qom province in Iran is a tourist destination and from there covid situation got uncontrollable and most probably from there covid entered Pakistan, so tourist destination should not be opened it is very critical.
Unfortunately, this year would be very difficult for people related to tourism. But these people can find jobs in agri and life stock sector or switch to bigger cities for jobs like they already do in off season.
