Help needed! Buying a car

AOA all,

I live in Rawalpindi and I need to buy a car within 3 months. I know this is a bad time to buy to car due to extreme rupee devaluation but i really need a car takay in careem walo se jan chura sakun. I already have a mehran (YUK! i know) but its not mine and I cant use it whenever i want.

My Budget is 15+5 lac maximum out of which 5 lac would be loan if i bought any car above 15 lac.
My preference is new car (except wagonR) but there are no good options in new cars. I was looking into HONDA CITY but this car is SO OVERPRICED and it seems like I have no other options. All suzuki cars are also overpriced like 13 lac for wagonR. Id much rather get a loan and get city instead of 13 lac wagonR.

Additionally I have no experience of buying used or japanese cars so i really dont wanna go for used cars. But if there are not options left I might have to get a used car.

Personal preferences:
1. I want the car to be efficient mileage wise but also comfortable
2. If I have to spend 15 lac on any car I would much rather get the city.
3. I would love an auto car.
4. Maintenance cost should be as low as possible like oil, filter, bumper, mirrors (Pindi mein chalani hai )
5. No FAW or United Bravo please.

Usage:
1. Family car about 4-5 persons
2. Will be driven within the city mostly in isb/rwp especially IJP and Murree Road in Pindi
3. Home-office-home (5km to office and then back)
4. have to enter narrow galis sometimes

Driving style:
I drive mehran (which i dont own) occasionally so i am a relatively new driver but i drive slow and steady.

Any and all help and responses would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. If you are really against Honda city please tell me why and city's alternative.

Passport vitz 1000 to 1300 cc
Honda civic 2008 reborn if found in good condition but it's maintenence is costly
Honda city is also a good option 2008 to 2010 model

I would recommend suzuki cultus auto as it is a newer generation car, is fuel efficient, less maintenance cost as compared to swift, less token tax and good for narrow streets and city driving. Do check it out at the showroom.

I have city aspire pt 18 , cultus ags 18 and swift auto 18 being used in my family, drive them almost daily, id rate them as city > cultus > swift.
Id recommend you to check out cultus ags. It perfectly fits your needs.

WSalam bro, i think you have pretty much made your mind to buy Honda City. Here is my personal opinion (anyone can disagree).
City is way above 15lakh.

1. If you want economy, you will have to compromise engine size and pick (660cc alto, mira etc). Max 200kg capicity,(if you want your car to last longer) that means 3 adults at most (if we assume 65kg/person). Price 12-13lakh.

2. You want 5 person seating capacity, fair fuel economy, auto transmission and around 15lakh, passo is best, vitz is almost same but a bit costly, less roamy and less ground clearance.

3. You want a local car around 15lakh, 5 people capacity, auto transmission and low maintenance cost swift is best. 5 people + a lot of luggage i-e if you over load and it will touch speed breakers. 6.5k for genuine head light, isn't cost effective for 1300cc?

4. If you have decided to go for Honda City(new) its milage is good, 5 people can sit(tightly). Overload it(like swift) and it will touch speed breakers, i have no idea for maintenance cost but it is definitely gonna cost you above 15lakh 1300cc, add auto transmission and cost goes 1Lakh+, Pick will suck with 1300cc and auto transmission that was good with manual. Add 1500cc engine and auto transmission, you jump to 22 lakh.

5. I didn't mention Toyota corolla or Honda civic because in your budget i-e around 15lakh, i don't think you will find a suitable car, the ones you will find will already have around 40-50kms on their odometer.

My suggestion?

1. In 15lakh, i would go for Passo(fully loaded)

2. In 18-19lakh i would go for Toyota Corolla 1.6(preferably) or 1.3, even 3 years old because corolla is a tough car and it is as strong as new Honda City even if its 3 years older. In engine(performance not reliability) i think Honda beats Toyota but we have to consider all aspects.

Choice is yours, these were my personal opinions, anyone may disagree.

Don't get city... a decade old over priced car. Even cultus has ABS and air bags... agar city he lenii he to old shape le leen. I have one. 1300 cc. Agar sahii chlaen to within city 18 tak or long pe at 120 130 gives upto 23 km/litter. 5000 pe oil change, sasta ho jata he. Parts are available, genuine bhii or replacement bhii (Chinese etc) at reasonable rates. Ground clearance bhii theek he. Shape shayad achii na lage but drive smooth or comfortable he. 7 lakh se 1 million tak achii condition me mil jae gii mere khyaal me. Automatic bhii aati he 1500 cc (2006-2008 shape).

Don't go for a used reborn. Sucks at fuel economy and low ground clearance are sure.

Agar new lenii he to Cultus is the way to go. Resale bhii achii ho gii. Features bhii heen ab kafii. 1000 cc= lifetime token. Automatic bhii mil jae gii. Check it out and take a test drive etc.

@mohizkhan101 Thank you for your opinion. City 1.3 is definitely better with manual transmission. I will also try to find out if there are any passo available.

@muhammadroshanahmad Bhai Dont you think cultus AGS is way overpriced too at 16+ lacs. I also like this car but it seems too good to be true. Ive heard that its a very light car and would dent easily in even in light fender bender.

@ulislam1997 I dont think i have ever seen a ciaz on road in Pindi or Islamabad. Do think its a good car compared to cultus or city?

Bro a guy I know has 2 and I’ve been in it a lot and driven it quiet some.
It only comes in 1.4auto so the performance is just enough but nothing more. Maintenance wise I guess it might be cheaper or similar to city.
Comfort wise (we have a city in the family I’ve driven as well) ciaz is a lot more comfortable compared to city’s hard shocks. Ciaz feels easier to drive too like the visibility and all esp since city has that very steep windshield shape.
Not sure about resale or parts tho and I’m sure city is better in those avenues.
And they’re pretty common in pindi isb but of course no where near as much as city.
I personally would prefer a Ciaz as a regular daily car , but that’s upto you.
Also ciaz’s fuel economy isn’t too good expect like 12kmpl on mixed driving.
Interior wise I prefer Ciaz too since city’s interior is a bit cheap looking to me but you’ll have to get aftermarket infotainment, city can come with factory fitted one Ciaz will not.
