Honda City 2006 L13a IDSI URGENT Help Needed

Dear Pakswheelers,

The following pics will explain my dilemma. The issue with the car was that it was continuously blinking the engine temperature light, the car was on Auto fan and thermostat with Toyota Coolant in it. There were absolutely not leaks in the system and it never turned off / stalled.

The problem now is the mechanic has opened up the car since my guess was the head gasket, but the guy is saying that I need to replace the cylinder block and the head, but I think the engine is notuch damaged to go for an engine swap.

honda city is local car made by atlas group in lahore. almost 100% parts for engine rebuild are available from oem 3S shops as well as local importers at Plaza market in Karachi.

swap will be disaster unless you wish to take chances. @babarhyd @syncview

That is why I asked you guys. Means this is totally rebuildable, what do you think is exactly is wrong with this one. I personally don't think ke this an absolute lost cause.

U saying its run on coolant? Block and head tell a complete different story. Yes ur mechanic is right, its literally beyond repair now. I don't usually go for swap but your case is exceptional.

Replace the assembly. Honda rebuild my own understanding is need good mechanic.
I guess L13 assembly if you can find it.

Actually sir it is my colleague's car, he was running it on water but after continuous heat up. I asked him to get the system cleaned and then poured Toyota coolant myself. It was running very good for a week and then the light reappeared.

Yes it is an L13a. Should I go for a swap.

Go for assembly swap with L13. There is no way any mechanic can safely repair this. The coolant lines are corroded beyond repair. The cost to repair will be quite high which makes no sense apart from going the swap way.

Should I go for a complete engine with wiring or just buy the assembly...

Also sir, what will be the cost of a complete engine or the assembly. Since I basically don't know hondas and there rates..

Don’t know exactly but should be 20-25K. Check shafiq morh and shershah.

Easily doable.. Was it eating oil? Or any con rod knock?

27-33k mark range.

@dani_kk Bhai it was absolutely fine no stupid noise, everything was ohk, I drove it myself and no issues apart from the temperature light blinking. It was not eating oil, no smoke, no jerks. Etc. What do you suggest, should I go buy an assembly?

Also, the mechanic is saying ke jee, pora anyone he change kardo, 50-60 mein ajayega, per mere khayal mein Kum see Kum bhi 100.

Yar pehli baat ye hai, face it & stem seals new dalein and bus gasket replace karen... Don't go for full job. Since engine rings, con rod has no issue...
Its not like this kay engine khula hai to bus overhaul hi Karen... This job won't be more than 20-25k with Labour, oil etc...

If engine was really weak with many problems then overhaul was suggested... But for now don't play with everything..

Means @dani_kk Bhai you suggest ke mujhe na assembly na engine Naya Lena chahiye, properly face karwakar, seals nayi dal Kar OEM specs per T-Stat ke sath chalana chahiye?

What about the water pump did anyone check that? Considering all the corrosion.

Woh corroded he na ho ab to lazmi change karna he hai.
