The steering assembly was taken off of the guardry and sent for machining job AKA "kharaad" nothing was to be repaired, the guys there just took out the old parts and installed new ones...

The "chimta" joint... totally dead

The original CUT BUSH that came with the car.It was badly deshaped and rubber was hardened

The little guy also decided to stop working for the greater good of the engine... got replaced last year. gave up after 55000kms... replaced yesterday. cost just 190rs its the belt bearing. used to give sounds in cold starting only.

Didnt take any pix after this... suspension is Mashallah perfect now... No sounds at all... may be i ll change the front shocks too and that will be an extra topping!

The mechanic charged me 6000rs for all of that... he says the "kharad" guys charged 2500rs but i dont believe him. he regularly rips people off BUT his quality of work is awesome... thats why people still go back to him no matter how much he charges...

yes bro turtle is nice... though i used to use formula 1 previously and it was equally good... havent used the turtle wax right now because the front bumper needs some touching and the body needs a compound polish job. which i ll get done after few other small things are done. the 2 things that i ll do at the very end is fabric cleaning and turtle wax application... also gonna get new tires next month probably...

and yes, i ll get all the silver panels take off of the interior and will get them repainted to silver...

Alllaaa Ahmad Alllaaa MASHALLAHA complete overhaul of suspension & other parts , yar you really doing a great job , we simply don't realize the way you running this thread being a student & off-course studies is priority , even than detailed pic's of every bit 'n' piece and than posting here with text & price , hats off to U, its a great help for every1 , wish you best of luck with all the up coming projects.

yes the suspension is now fine for the next many many thousand kilometers... gonna change the tires next month too as right now they are the weakest link in the chain... as for detailing, im not even close to what you are usman bhai and others are doing, i ve JUST started to getting into it... hopefully, some day my car will be shining just like urs is always Once again, thanks a lot (H)

when getting your car's suspension work done, have you noticed the steering rack, does it has ecu of its own mounted near the motor or not and if you have idea how many cables connector have, the one that feed power to the system??????

Lets hope the chinese chimtay work fine, rest all pieces look in good quality.
Last year the honda guys were asking 7000/chimta. but i went for "kardaria"

And yes that belt bearing, my car also gives one "kigh" sound when starting, is it this bearing? Or battering is reviving hard the starter motor.

bro i have absolutely no idea! i do believe there is a seperate ECU for the EPS as my mechanic once had to reset it because of the EPS light showing up.btw, i didnt see any ECU near the motor.i ll confirm this from my mechanic. Will also ask about connector cables...

well, i am also concerned about chimtay only... but even if they give up after 6 months or a year, its fine... because 2 of them cost less then half the price of one Honda OEM chimta Last time i also got it repaired, i didnt want to but my mechanic said it ll be fine... i didnt quite like the results of that repair.

as for the sound... emmm... mine used to give sound for several minutes after the car is started... im not sure if its the bearing in ur case or not...

Aoa ahmad bhai... so nice to see u back in action... So, there was I recently going thru this thread when I came across the post that u were going to get the panels of ur car painted....

Well, I did a job on them few days ago and got some pictures.I couldn't upload em earlier.. Thought of sharing them wd u now.

Here you Go...

panels opened... Unexpected truckloads of dirt in them... bad condition of the paint.. :S:S:S

Found These in the kitchen... :D:D followed the old baba jee's formula to scratch the panels...

and the old paint removed; panels up for drying...

the small amount of old paint u can see is a very very thin layer so won't make a difference. plus, its pretty hard to scrub the panels on a cold evening... :P:P

Bought this "very" ordinary spray paint can that is normally used for making number plates etc.

the guy who sold me this said that it did not need a primer... Cost me 150 Rs.

and the panels painted... tada... (H)

check out the paint finish...

everything done except this center compartment... cz I can't get it out...

anybody help me?? ahmad bhai??? :(:(

Hope this helps u a bit... and yeah... The upholstery is very dirty... but not up for cleaning. cz I have plans to get Leather Instead of this crappy cloth over here... saw a city the other day with leather and it looked really sesky... :D:D:D:D

haha.. as the heading states, my cars are getting very dirty cz there is no one to clean them... even start them... my dad uses his 2010 oriel which is serviced occasionally by his driver; munshi etc...

these two, idsi 04 and exi 04 stay at home... I have not been wd them for several days... just to show u guys... :D:D:D

I hit a big big black dog on Mianwali Multan road last month with my exi while at a speed of 140+... and u can see what happened to the bumper.. :(

Both cars scheduled for a lot of care very sooon InshAllah...

and when I pop the hood of my idsi, here's what I see...

you ve done a great job! well done! i want to know if the surface is getting any scratches again? how long has it been since u ve painted these?

well, i tried to see how these door handle panels open and i found that u have to take off the whole door panel to get the out as there is a nut screwed in from the back side into the door handle switch panel. did u take off the complete door?

my plan is to take off the panels. rub them with sand paper (not to take the paint off but to make the surface smooth) then spray paint 2 or 3 coats and rub with a verrrryyy fine sand paper again. n it would be awesome if i can find some high gloss clear coat spray for it... would be perfect!

as for that central panel, u have to take off the complete horizontal panel. to do that, go all the way to the end of it, just beside the rear small ash try, u ll find 2 screws on each side, unscrew them and then just take off the panel with force. after its removed, u ll find a few more screws near the cup holder itself which u ll unscrew to detach it from its place... i recently got my cars' centre console open, hope im not forgetting anything

btw, how many million years have been passed since u washed that engine? lol .. j/k... but u shud give it a complete wash...
as for ur civics bumper, my car also hit a dog on khushab road and scratched its newly painted bumper not getting enough time to get it repainted...
