ahmad: my bro the dry cell battery has the same dimensions and voltage ratings. As for overall life, it is same or a bit more than ordinary battery. There is no disadvantage with the conventional batteries, its just that you gotta take care of it. As akbar bro pointed out that he had to maintain the water level and thats why battery is giving him good life. People usually forget about maintaining water level in the battery. My experience is that usually a battery will last for a max 3 years

Also for the horn, the stock horn sucks anyway, but if you have changed it or even have stock one, go to a good electrician and install a "cut out" (at least thats what electricians call it) and that will take care of the dull thingie

Guys....finally got my city registered today and herez the best part...i followed the gear shifts as given in the manual and plus didnt push the pedal.... i drove 113kms @ 7.355 liters thus giving me 15.44kms/litre !!!

And that too with the AC on!!!!

told ya ...!!! u can get that type of avg.so,was it boring to drive in that style to get the economy or was it fine wid u? cuz i dnt change gears below 3k rpm cuz a every bit of my body wants me to accelerate hard but still i dnt...but even if i do,it wont matter,mine is on cng.

nd if u drive at speeds of 80-90km/h in 5th gear wid constant pressure on the padel,u can get abt 20 or 21km/ltr.
if u hav rear the original topic i made,there its stated that idsi engine has a record of giving 26km/ltr avg wid 4ppl sitting in it.so 20 or 21 kms shud'nt b very difficult to get....!!!

im not much interested in sound system stuff.the sound is OK for me.nd since its my dad's car not only for me,i cant put in anything which my dad dnt like to hav.so...y annoy ones dad for a damn sound system:D

yeah it was difficult for me too when in the begaining...but now im used to it nd not much concerned abt economy due to cng.
well,abt the cylinder thing.a full cylinder wud now cost(after the recent increase in price) abt more then 300rs easily depending on the pressure the pump has.nd on avg. my car does 13-140kms in a cylinder in city wid ac off.
on long routes..if the quality of gas is just OK(mostly its OK) then it does abt 160-175kms in a cylinder but sumtimes if i get the gas filled frm a newly oppened cng station,it went on upto exact 200kms without ac.

cant tell u the reading wid ac bcuz still,the ac is not ON always.

bro if u drive ur car abt 30-40km or more daily,u sure need cng.our car is driven almost 70-80kms daily(damn thats huge) nd cng gives us huge savings.by now i guess the price of the cng kit has been compensated.so,u hav to see how much u drive ur car daily.if u drive it like 10-20kms daily then its just a waste of money rather then saving.

nd dnt think ur engine is gonna messed up if u put cng.theres nothing like it.u just need to b regular on routein maintainence like oil change nd filters nd plugs changes nd nothing is gonna happen to ur car.

today my car hit 50,000kms mark.got it cngED on 19,000kms.nd mashallah,i had not a single problem since day one.no problem regarding cng or anything else of the car nd im happy we choose city for ourself nd not anyother boring looking car.u can see 50,000kms in a lil above a year is too much....about 100kms a day....on the bumpy rough roads of sargodha,nd still going strong.i drove another city which was just 2 months old nd i did'nt felt any difference in that car nd mine.this tells us about the good quality of this car(Y)

hmmm...well on weekdays i im mostly driving to work n back...and maybe a lil outta the way and its no more than 15kms max, on weekends i think its gonnna be a decent 50kms but yea if im able to control my urge to just'cruise around' i think id b ok petrol. One more thing that iv realized, my friend bought his city a month ago , and got 195/55/R15 ( i advised him to stick to R14)+ hez usually shifting above 3.5k rpm , his mileage is not more than 11km/litre. now im wondering...has it got more to do with his rim size or his driving. Cause if i upgrade to 185/65/R14 im wondering if its gonna have any major effect on the mileage.

what are u guys taking about the pedal and stuff well drove my city for the first time before coming back to the states well guys the drive was smoth i ll give u that but the interior quality really sucked and not be rude also the body shaped it actually felt like i was sitting in a small car not a family car what i meanis that i used to drive 06 xli but if u guys compare with it then sorry to say guys xli wins it hands down when my dad came back from isd when he saw the car he said why did u buy this car because he is a toyota fan even when he drives our bmw 760 li he always say that my land cruisers drive is much better then this dont know why did u bought this for me...but if u guys see the price well u cant beat that i mean 850 for a car with so many opition thats good where as u get xli for 950 just for the body and engine ..one of my causin who himself owns a city when i told him that he said u just felt like that becasue u drove xli he said he also felt like that when he bought that car ...so guys thats my point of veiw on my city hopefully i will get over these problems ...

but the good news is that since our new pm has made that law no MNA can use a car over 1500 cc this car is going to be registered under my dads name in the parliment that means no cng thank god ...

fso:bro sorry but i will have to disagree a bit. First of all, Corolla being spacious is more like an optical illusion, like it has bigger fenders and stuff but the interior wise it is similar it city with regards to room if not more. Also bro since you live in US and have driven imported cars, you will obviously feel quality issues with all pak cars but believe me Honda has the best build quality amongst pak assembled cars,

Secondly, the main prob i have wil XLI is that it has no value for money and you will have to agree is that though it has best resale in Pakistan, but over there is no logic why a car does well, many excellent cars like Sunny, Lancer have been rejected by the people (why????????). Wheenver there is a debate about city vs XLI, the toyota fans have 2 things to say (XLI has more pick and resale which is not a very logical metric for comparison)

City has a futuristic shape and when lauched in 2003 everyone made fun of it but name a single car today whose shape does not resemble the city's????. As for comfort, it mainly depends on tyres.

And dont worry about PM, austerity drive is always for common man, the day he said the 1600 cc thing, gave his 2 ministers bullet proff mercs

well where as the money value is concern im 100 % agree with u actually i talked to the M.D of Indus motor and told him that u guys are lucky that xli sells so much with no power do u really think is it worth over 9 lak and his exact words were "well this is pakistan every thing gose and then he said these people will buy what ever is common"

and where as the shape is concern well i agree with that also now adays every other car is resembled to the city ...

This car makes a lot of sense and is selling good in front of corolla so i like it :). I bet if they give ngv option it will sweep the 1.3 category.

Only problem is the open lie from atlas people about its engine capacity. They write 1300 on the brochure but in reality its 1246 which cannot be called 1300 as per norms.
