thanks for the reply. by formula 1 cleaner, are you referring to the spray that comes by the name of F1? if yes, than that is what i used after tuff stuff; If not i will be looking out for it.

Thanks for quick reply, I bought City 2004 (manual gear) few months ago. My car has done 130,000 km. I used Havoline formula 10W30 thrice, and noticed slight decrease of engine oil on every oil-change at 4000km (the stick shows +50%). Is this normal? My mechanic says go for Havoline 20-50 as my car has done 120,000+

The second is gear oil. Can I use same Havoline Formula 20-50 for gear oil also? I have heard from few mechanics that we can use this engine oil in honda city. I have also found few such hints on internet.

yes thats what i was refering to.the yellow bottle thingy.
3CF/7CF is simple a spray (pressurized cane) which is used not to clean the dashboard but to give shine to it.u can get it from any decoration shop.its very common.

well, its not normal for an engine to reduce engine oil.this means that either ur engines valve seals arent good or the piston rings are gone.well, yes, u should use thicker oil now.20w40 or 20w50 is good for ur car.havoline CXT is a nice 20w40 engine oil.

as for using engine oil in transmission, NOT AT ALL!!!! thats the worst thing u can do to the gearbox. use only the proper purpose made gearbox oil.can be honda OEM oil (if u want to spend around 2000rs) or can be zic or micking gear oil, will cost 800rs. also let me tell u that u ll have to buy 2 bottles of oil, 1ltr each.though the gearbox takes around 1.8ltr of oil, pour all of the 2 ltrs in, the excess will drain out itself.

get throttle body cleaned and tappets adjusted.read the maintainence shedule in the original post and see what u ve been skipping.

Can you please tell me which shop/showroom to buy genuine city parts from at reasonable price. I believe 3S charges lot more than local market. I use to buy stuff like plus, oil from a shop behind Shell pump in G5.

suddenly my car has started to reduce its mileage in a cylinder.
earliar it used to do 180-200+ but now it reduced to 150 or so
can u help or advise me in this regard???

Hi all,

Been a proud City Vario owner since 2005. Love and still love it driving more than my Civic Reborn.

Looking for an upgrade on the City and I seek comments & feedback on the common/habitual/persistent problems in the new one.

I spoke to a guy at Honda, he said there were some issues with the ECU initially, but that has been taken care of.

Someone I know who had the iDSI and now the new one, curses the new one for its suspension. Is that true ?

I know I can read all the 60 odd pages and find out stuff, but time's not on hand and I would like someone to sum it all up here

hi i own an 06 iDSI and 2010 iVTEC City

let me just say that the New City is better than iDSI city in everyway
suspension stiffness seems to be the same as far as i can tell but we dont go to rural areas and both cars r used in Karachi only

New City retains the excellent Fuel economy of iDSI and adds much more horsepower making it the fastest 1300CC car in Pakistan currenty

The Clutch is like Air
think of the softest clutch u can imagine and ill tell u the new city has a softer clutch that the one u imagined

Steering is also extremely soft which u have to experience it urself

i dont know about ECU problem but the car used to Knock when it was new
most ppl suggested to use 70% Super and 30% Hi Octane but eventually this problem disappeared

All in all i would say the New city is a worthy successor to the car that redefined Fuel Economy in Pakistan, the iDSI City

Hello guys i want to have new seat covers for mu new city.....and i also want to to have some floor carpeting on the original one....any shops in isb rwp who use to do this carpet it can be of some kind of raxeene or some other stuff....the main purpose of this carpeting is to save the original floor carpet from dust and other stuff.....so please tell me any good shop in isb rwp for both of these thingz

well,, can be many things.plugs, airfilter or may be tuning needed.also note that with a/c , the engine will never give the same mileage as without it.

that has already been answered but i ll like to point out one thing that makes me have 2nd thoughts about new city.the cabin space is far less then idsi, im 6' and my head touches the roof if seated on the rear seat.leg room on back is fractionally better then idsi but its much cramped at from if compared to idsi.well, i shudnt say cramped, its enough for me to sit comfortablly, but idsi gives me more space then needed
