I am sharing this for the knowledge of all Honda City owners (2017 on-wards). I own 1.3-MT Honda City 2017 which is now 1.5 years and 15,000 kms old. Yesterday, for the first time after my purchase, the immobilizer of my car stopped working (permanently). I called Honda Point (the dealer where I got my car from) and they told me to contact Tracking World as they were the manufacturers/suppliers of this part. This was surprising as Honda should be responsible for at-least those parts which have Honda Logo engraved/marked on them and no other logo is there.
Most important part is: Today I went to Tracking World to claim the warranty of my car's immobilizer. To my surprise they told me that it is not covered under warranty so I need to pay 2100/- for the replacement. I argued that Honda offers comprehensive warranty of this car which is valid for 70,000 kms or 3 years and neither of these has passed in my case. To put things in brief, they asked me to produce a proof that Honda gives warranty of immobilizer and claimed that it is only an accessory.While I claimed that first of all this is not an accessory rather it should be considered part of the car as car can't be started without it. And secondly Honda doesn't name all separate parts on warranty book. So if you claim that it is not covered under warranty then you should print it on a paper and sign it so that I can use it for my claim before a competent authority if need be. Finally they accepted that it is covered under warranty and if not broken, they would replace it in warranty (free of cost). And when opened it was perfect (aesthetically) and they replaced it with a new one (zero charges).
Message: The immobilizer of Honda City is covered under warranty, under same terms as of other Honda parts.

Reliability of this immobilizer: On my query regarding the procedure being so easy and might be copied by others, they told me that the sensors in key (leather pouch) and there programming kit is propriety equipment and no one else in Pakistan have these.
