Honda Civic 1.5 turbo jerks after 4000 rpm

Help !

I own a civic turbo 1.5. Car runs fine on normal driving. But when full pedal is pressed , and after reaching 4000 rpm , it starts misfires , jerks , And won’t go past 5 k rpm.
Went to Honda fort , the supervisor was unable to diagnose and changed the air filter. Problem wasn’t resolved.
Went to Honda township , they changed fuel filter, did throttle body service and checked the plugs. The plugs half good to go. On a test drive the problem still persists. In short the dealership failed to resolve the misfire and jerk issue.
Does any of the owners faced a similar problem. What would be possible solutions. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Get your fuel pump tested.

Does your car by any chance throw a CEL when it misfires? Around 4K RPM the turbo spools up and 5K is the VTEC crossover point. There's a chance that your car is going in to limp mode.

I agree, that sound likes limp mode. When you go there ask them to check for CVT diagnostic codes as well.
The CVTs have a problem at high performance and if the ECU detects chain or pulley slip it will not let the car rev higher than what has been stored or safe value.

🤦🏻‍♂️ What kind of a stupid supervisor was him that changed the air filter to solve the knocking problem.

First of all, try to fill up your tank with Euro 5 Hi Octane fuel and see if the issue persists, then get the fuel pump checked, and if anything comes up related to the fuel pump, maybe your car falls in the category of FREE fuel pump replacement campaign launched by Honda for Civics.

The rest is your choice.

First get the fuel pump inspected, then get the spark plugs changed.

What is the car's mileage and when were the plugs last changed? With 1.5 Turbo it's almost always the plugs, as they need premature replacement.

I don't own civic turbo but JDm wagonR and I have faced the same issue with my car on high revs car started missing like CVT belt slipping. Consulted different workshops. Some said CVT belt wear out some said coil issue. Anyways changed the oil to amsoil signature series 0W-20 and that missing vanished on the very first run after oil change.

Try changing oil with amsoil to see if it makes difference.

Mileage is 13.8 km/l on the dash. I’ll change plugs Tomorrow to clear doubts

Whats the condition of transmission fluid?

What's the current odo reading? and when was the CVTF last changed?

To me, it seems that air filter, throttle body, oil filter or oil are not the culprit.

Culprit either seems to be the spark plugs, fuel injectors, or something hampering the fuel supply to the engine and injectors (fuel pump, fuel filter, etc.)

Please check.

Also try to have your vehicle scanned via professional diagnostics tool to check for any / all fault codes, so that if any error code is there (irrespective there is any check light or warning light in the dashboard, or not), it is taken care of.

2ndly, although irrelevant, but check the Cat. Conv. too.

Changed transmission fluid yesterday. 3.5 L. I ll post the pic of the bill which dealerships ripped me off during diagnostics. Around 30 k.

It has two fuel pumps. One underneath seat the other one in engine bay. With rubber

housing

Catalytic convertor chocked. I'm 100% sure.
Same thing happened in my friend's turbo.
It wasn't even shifting in S. Took ages to go above 100 and gave jerks.
Get catcon cleaned through motor clean or use liqui moly catalytic system cleaner which is poured from intake side. Drive harshly for 10kms and your old performance/fuel economy will return.
