I recall that there used to be aftermarket seal kits sold for these pumps, and it was extremely easy to install them, They are very simple hydraulic vane pumps, what sort of lazy mechanics are you guys dealing with that they cannot make a simple hydraulic system work.
The only catch on honda systems is that you need to use Honda PSF and bleed the system correctly first (raise the entire oil tank above the level of the pump, it will bleed very quick) - its basic honda repair procedure since I was in shorts.
Pull a vacuum to test for air tightness so that any minute leak shows up.
p.s. you are not supposed to hold the steering at full lock for more than 3 seconds - it literally forces the pump to run full pressure and volume which will destroy the oil and wear out the pump.
The oil tank also needs servicing if the PSF is a bit cruddy, - the filter in it clogs which a little time with some strong soap, agitation and rinsing takes care of. The fluid itself needs to be changed if its worn, - please dont follow the youtube videos of sucking the oil out of the tank, its literally useless. Use the honda factory service manual procedure.
