1. Living in Islamabad - I got these preventive stuff done through same mechanic of yours i guess .. Its Yasir (from Khair ul Warra Autos G-10/1 I&T Center). Got, all the these parts from adjacent shop named Baig Autos.

2. 10W-40 Sounds good, i think he was using thick oil 20W-50 for no apparent reason. As so far, i haven't seen any of the reason to use oil with such viscosity. So, in my coming oil change i will be pouring Shell 10W-40 and once no flaws / smokes / oil reduction found i should go for 10W-40. Another question here, for how many KMs i should drive this 10W-40 ? i.e. for the first attempt you have recommended to flush it after 1500KMs ... but what about 2nd, 3rd, 4th change?

3. I forgot to mention, i flushed the radiator water and filled it up with coolant and water (60% coolant & 40% water). Got this done, while i was getting the Timing Belt & Bearing done. Should i had to serviced the radiator grill as well? I didn't do it except pouring the portions of coolant & water.

4. Great, i was about to waste hard earned money for these fancy iridium plugs. So i will stick to the normal single tip NGK, Denso, Bosch plugs. I am sorry, i dont have a specs nor a car manual. Can someone please share the car manual with me?

5. Well, you certainly are not the only one, having a petrol for full and finishing it off until the reserve light comes in I do the same. BTW, during previous days when RON 92 launched, i tried almost all of the fuel stations (PSO - Beverley Center, Shell F-6, Shell F-7, Caltex F-10 is good, Caltex F-8 good too) and found no significant difference in my car's engine sound or performance. May be because i was already mixing Premium with Super or my engine doesn't felt the change. I ensure 99.9% of the times to have a full tank of fuel from Total F-6 (formerly Caltex). So, i think having a quality fuel matters as well along with proper quantity in terms of liters against the money

I will get back to you with the tyre size, i am not sure yet, but i am not using any alloy rims n tyre size was 14 inches. Will share the exact number of it soon.

By the time i was getting alignment and wheel balancing done, my guy said, RIMs have lost the round shape of their and i need to replace these RIMs. He urged by not using any alloys but to have normal RIMs. Can someone, please advise me from where i should be buying original stock (non alloy RIMs) for Civic 7 Gen please?

Ok, if OEM / Genuine shocks are so expensive, then from where in ISB / RWP i should get the kaabli ones? what would be the estimated price of front pair?

I will be asking more questions with the passage of time, as i will be getting some stuff done periodically and keep asking you experts for recommendations & suggestions.

The brakes have mechanism that when it is near its end of life, there are audible warnings. If you look closely, there is a metal strip and when brake pad is getting too thin (even though still working) the metal strip touches the brake disc creating squeaking sound.

When you start hearing that, its time to change brake pads within 1-2k KMs.

Which coolant did you use? The honda genuine coolant is premixed with water, you do not need to add water?

If you coolant was concentrated, did you use distil water? The distil water available in market are usually crap. Lastly even with concentrated coolant, the mix is supposed to be 50 50, why did you go for 60 40?

I used ZIC coolant on recommendation of my mechanic, is there a life of coolant too? Like, after what exact interval radiator should be flushed and poured the fresh water and coolant in? Besides, should i get my radiator serviced too? though i have not felt any heating issues until now (even in late summers July 2016 when i purchased this car).

If the car has been running on water you need to flush as radiator may be rusted inside. Coolant is changed at 1lac km.

Then it is premixed and you should not have mixed more water to it... In short, you have just wasted your time and money. Pre-mixed coolants should never be mixed with water.

And which water did you use...? that is for future reference i am asking but for this case, you need to flush whole system and pour in coolant

For shocks, brand new for 18k complete set for front but if u buy from Honda, 25-30k complete set. Kabli, 6k front and 4k for back ones complete shocks. Sometimes u need to get 7 pairs of shocks just to find the right set and every time 500 as labour. Incase of brand new ones, peace of mind and in kabli, u dnt knw anything its pure luck

yes sir, they start making noise. but be sure its not the noise when you use cold brakes at 6am in the morning for first 2-3 minutes.

when brake pads are worn they make grumpy sound everytime you apply brakes.

i bought new set of tyres 2 weeks back.

Michelin 185 Energy Xm2. from Japan Tyres blue area with warranty of 100,000 km or 3 years whichever comes first. the previous tyres being used on this car were 205 size Dunlop with manufacturing date of 20-2009

so the moment i bought this beauty immediately got brand new set of tires of Michelin of OEM recommended size.

life of all lubricants and coolant is 40, 000 kms or 2 years (which ever is earlier)

1. how lovely, yasir is the best guy and does not ask you to do with the car which is not required, a little tip. yasir does not do cars himself he has guys who do it and the best one in his staff is IMRAN. stay away from jaffer and humayun.

please never in life goot BAIG autos again, always either buy parts from Bismillah autos Melody market. or Mehran Autos Pindi.

japanese Nissin brake pads i bought from bismillah were for 2400 and same pads being sold by baig for 3000 and if you try negotiating with baig auto staff guy he is extremely batameez, i also changed the belts of my car, from bismillah each belt costed 300 rupees and baig is selling each belt for 650 rupees :////

myself and everyone in my family change engine oil at 3000-4000 km. regardless of what the packing of oil says. but with liqui moly you can change at around 5000km interval as its packing says 7000-8000 km interval change. Liqui moly oil has cleaning agenst, it apple syrup colour at first but when you have driven it around 3000 km it changes to red colour and then it starts going black.

for coolant, keep your eye on the reserve bottle and whenever the car is cold pour coolant in the reserve tank to the MAX point only. once you have maintained its MAX level on cold car for a week then it wont need coolant everyday and you are good to go (just make sure there are no leaks otherwise replace the leaking HOSE rather then using screw clamps) always use OEM hose clamps. if its leaking the HOSE has gone bad but not the clamp itself.

buy spark plugs from Kashif at Bismillah Auto Melody, superb prices and he has all quality products. you will tell him the model of car and he will give you the right plugs.

all my life we used f-6 caltex pump to top up car fuel, but once Attock pumps opened never looked back.

Attock has the best fuel because attock has its own REFINERY and they have company operated pumps so the chance of error in their products is close to nil, PSO sells ganda fuel everywhere, they buy low grade refined fuel from attock refinery and tweak it themselves.

Seems, i have done some serious blunder i.e. I did not notice if the ZIC coolant is already mixed with portion of water or not. Mechanic used the simple (tap water), he poured all of the coolant and rest he filled the water in radiator. Let me please know, if i have to flush all of it and what portion i should use now and if i have to get my radiator serviced too.

ZIC comes in 4L can for 1500 rupees and its more than enough for civic.

i am sure jaffer or humayun did your car, if it was imran or yasir he would have TOLD YOU SO.

Did your mechanic not know any of this? In that case i suggest either keep an eye on things yourself in future or change mechanic. Did you mechanic bleed air from system? Also known as burping it? Air has to be bled out and more coolant is poured in. Air in system can causing heating issues

Yes you have to flush it out and pour in new coolant. Make sure the coolant is pre-mixed. If it is not pre-mixed then use good quality distil water at 50 50 ratio exact. You can buy high quality distil water from valley water I-9 at very cheap rate.

It is recommended to fill with pre-mixed coolant as much as required. However say you used all your bottles and still a small amount is required (e.g 250ml) then you can add some distil water BUT coolants are not very expensive so why not fill it completely with it.

you dont need any special tools, just go buy ZIC coolant 4L can for 1500 rupees and do it at home by following youtube video.

open the bleed valve of radiator, let it flow peacefully and open the radiator cap, take off the top hose connected to radiator, now put in garden hose pipe and let the water flow and it will flush whatever is in there with clean water. then connect everything back, put in water from tap and start car and keep revving it until RADIATOR fan turns on automatically, also use heater in this process.

once done, let the car cool and flush the water and then pour in ZIC coolant and VOILA you are done.

make sure you bleed system after adding ZIC coolant. watch chrisfix video of coolant on youtube.

I got those stuff done by Sunny of Yasir Jaffer did my disks replaced .. i will never be visiting Baig Autos again, will definitely visit Bismillah in Melody market .. i have a bad habit .. i buy things partially, keep stocking them and then visit mechanic for the installation n stuff.

I have no idea, which bulbs are installed in headlights of my car, though these are non HID. I saw your post regarding changing bulbs too, what would be the benefit of it ? like extra light etc? kindly take some time out and i let me know the difference and i will add low beam n high beam bulbs replaced with the recommended ones.

So, on my things to do

1) Front shocks
2) 10W-40 Oil, Oil Filter of Guard, Air Filter of Guard (on my next oil change)
3) Front Disk Pads, I saw some leakage of oil over generator, means Power Steering thing is having some issues. Will get it checked too.
4) Custom made seat covers are on the agenda too - but i am considering cosmetic stuff on my least priority unless i fix the priority things first.

Power steering pump is leaking, you can get its seals (there are 4 i guess) changed easily from any good mechanic. Its not an expensive job

Didn't use coolant ever, as i had Suzuki Margalla before this and couldn't notice what they are doing with the coolant thing. For now, i will not touch radiator thing for another 2 or 3 months (pre-summer) - and will get it serviced first and then pure ZIC coolant without adding any water into it.

Can someone, please advise me regarding RIMs? I need the stock ones, even if someone is selling the VTi ones (non repaired).
