Hello Guys! This is my first post in the PakWheels forum. I occasionally read posts from other PakWheelers and they are really informative and I am looking forward to be a part of the community
I want to share my experience with my Honda Civic RS Turbo 2019. I bought the car as soon as it was relaunched and got the delivery in July 2019 from Honda Classic Islamabad. It has been more than a year since I have owned the car and the drive experience is amazing. I am now at 18,000 kms and mostly drive on Motorway with 850 kms in a single stretch (between Ghotki and Islamabad).
I was advised by the dealership to use Hi Octane fuel in the car and same I followed for the initial kms. At around 8,000 kms, during drive on M2, I noticed that my car has lost power and started making "tick" sound at times when I pressed on the gas. The car became so dead that I stopped driving in ECON mode. This continued for sometime until, I finally took it to the workshop. The mechanic inspected different parts and found heavy orange deposits (MMT deposits) on the O2 sensor and Cat converter. The sensor and cat converter were cleaned up and the power came back. Since then, Pakistani HOBC is a big no for me. The car runs fine on RON 92 and I am using only RON 92 from a trusted pump.
Recently, I have noticed a strange behavior. Although the car is still powerful and smooth, but when I floor the pedal, during engine acceleration, the engine loses power for a brief moment and then continues back. I am not sure if its knock or something else. Could it be that the fuel pump is unable to keep up with sudden fuel demand? Could it be spark plugs? or is it knock?
Looking forward to suggestion on what to check and do next.
This was the condition at around 11,000 kms odo with Hi Octane fuel.
