Could this mean that the RS engine is more protected against damage from knock than the previous turbo? One more thing, how can I make myself comfortable that my engine is OK and has not taken any damage. How to inspect engine health?
Regards
Normally these direct injection turbo charged engine don't fail as long as oil is changed at regular intervals and kept at recommended level and weight. If you still want to check health you can get compression tested. Some stealerships have compression gauge and they can check compression of each cylinder. As far as I understand software increases knock control when bad fuel is used, it raises kcon and reduces power but at the end of day bad fuel leaves it mark in form of manganese in our case. I have ktuner which tells a lot more parameters than a normal OBD2 scanner. With new ecu I believe they have changed ignition timing and fuel runs richer in order to avoid kirr kirr noise that came in initial models. Since we have non-si version in Pak, in US the si variant have fortified internals therefore it can take a lot beating n is rated at 205 compared to non-si which is rated at 174 whp.I've heard people using some acid to clean catcon. It cleans up like 30-50% but the grills are quite delicate in cat hence there is always risk of damage therefore I won't recommend. So far euro 5 fuel is only available in khi not available in Lahore and prolly islo too. Taha tested the new fuel in khi and it come out to be 100 octane. Downpipe can be made by people who make stainless steel headers for performance cars. Not sure about islo but I know people in Lahore. If you are interested let me know.
This is how our turbo looks like, see orange residue
This is how it should look, just carbon.
PSO EURO 5 is now available at following pumps as per PSO website. Some pumps from Islamabad and Lahore are also there. They have removed Altron X 97 from their website which means they are going to replace Altron X 97 with EURO 5 Hi-Octane 97
Nice photos. I have gone through couple of forums and have found that these orange deposits are harmless. The only thing they affect is the cat converter and O2 sensor and both can be cleaned. My turbo impeller is a lot more orange at 11000 kms than this. God knows how much MMT they added in the fuel I used. This is actually criminal negligence by the oil companies.
0-100 km/h in around 9 seconds in S mode. Video quality is bad. The car was relatively new at that time and before the MMT issue.
I live opposite to the pso at sr. No. 31. Its not there yet. Maybe its the proposed pumps list.
Then good news. It will be coming there soon as they have a target to make EURO 5 fuel available in major cities by 22nd Aug.
Both turbos are mine. These are harmless but over time the build up reduces efficiency.. deposit on piston reduces volume hence compression is effected, deposit on valves increases weight.. minor but yet worrisome.
Whats the odo on both of them?
Nice...https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EKzI4fojE7QbVoNEJkV6_TfAVgRMHsIX/view?usp=drivesdkUnder 7 I guess
At the time of pic orange one was 30k km. Carbon covered one I imported from states from a wrecked Si, mileage unknown.
Nice, around 7-8 seconds. Can you share photos of your SI? Is it 204 HP?
Its like CVT abuse to me, and I fear; continuous, prolonged driving in S Mode, instead of D Mode, may result in pre-mature ageing and failure of CVT.
My Turbo's 40k inspection is coming soon. Anything in particular I should look out for? Don't want to end up paying 50k for no reason.
Dear if you have owners manual with you, then you may consult it.
It contains all the details about which task to perform, at how many Kms.
You may omit the ones which are not currently reqd. and are working fine.
Pso al rafay f/s is my mamo’s pump. I got euro 5 97 ron filled from there in my turbo today. Its available at most pumps but i guess not yet advertised publicly.
Is it safe to use fuel system cleaner in turbo? After replacing plugs, my mechanic recommended me to use it
at what price today in lahore at jail road pso i fill my tank according to him that was euro 5 120rs per litre
The one which honda sells.
