Honda Civic vs Toyota Corolla Grande

I knew this thread will turn into a fight when i saw the title
Anyways, I believe after 8th Gen civic, the Honda quality has hone way down. There are number of issues in the new civic and prime one being the battery water issues. There are other issues two, strange noises, dashboard corners not settled properly etc. Right now I believe grande to have better quality.

Regarding top speed, not that you need 240 even on motorway. But just for sake of argument, I took (only once) my 99 City to 190 on motorway and accelerator was not floored. I think it was back in 2006. Just saying

And Civic's engine s more powerful than Corolla's standard 132 hp 1.8 2ZR engine.

Agreed. The 2 hp R18 make more than 2ZR is overshadowed by the more torque 2ZR gives out, also the CVT-i of the Grande is way superior than Civic X. Ask anyone who has really driven both of these. Theres no comparison between the gearboxes.

corolla has a 7 speed cvt-i but civic has a genuine continuously variable transmission, that means upto 9 gears

Have done for the whole year and no civic 1.8 oriel never stood a chance. Also the gearbox in grande shifts faster than the one in civic. I dont want to argue or lie here about performance of both cars but lets just say grande is king in 1.8 local sedan category and only jdm premio 1.8 is faster than it because of valvematic engine. Btw civic turbo is very performance oriented but due to high compression and fragile to low quality fuels knocking issues happened. If Civic 1.5 turbo had good after sales and no issue I would never even think about buying a grande ever because its a lot better in all ways!!!

200 pe grande ka fuel cut hojata hai but if ecu is chipped you do even 240. Fuel cut is safety measure from company.

No one is talking about practicality here. Its not about speed and drag racing. Civic and Corolla are family sedans, they are not meant for racing. Civic is just dressed as a bride, underneath the appearances both are similar.

For me, I love foldable seats and comfortable suspension. Grande foldable rear seats doubles luggage capacity. I have to pick relatives from airport who live abroad, so its a blessing for me.
