driving for long with out rest is not good you might sleep and never wake up.

i remember see a driver sleeping in a crashed ride his words were was driving and slept and woke up like this....

I have driven 24 hours from Islamabad to karachi.
The mode of transportation was to be a boing 777 but due to missing the flight and had to reach Karachi for important stuff so just drove to karachi.
Vehicle used was a Toyota Land cruiser 2003.
Route ISLAMABAD - LAHORE - MULTAN - BAHWALAPUR - SADIQABAD - ROHRI/SUKKAR - HYDRABAD - KARACHI.
Started at 10 'o' clock in the evening because i missed the 9 'o' clock flight. reached multan at 6 in the morning, had break in multan "Sindbad hotel" and left multan after breakfast and reached sukker almost at 2 o clock. Had lunch with a friend in the sukker with a friend and reached karachi 10 'o' clock at night.
Next day had to the important stuff for which I had to reach Karachi for the first place. After that sleept for the next night. Stayed in krachi for 15 or so days and did the same back. return was also the same but left karachi in the morning and reached Islamabad the next moarning.

i drove from pindi to gujrat n gujrat to pindi!
n trust me wen i slept,i was still feelin im drivin..
one day trip tht was,gujrat is 165 kms away n home to home was like 180 so i guess all add up,i drove 6 hours in one day n tht was it..dont wish to drive any more !

To stay on topic: 16 hours/1000 miles is pretty routine for me in a single day that I regard as an easy drive.

I have been called much worse in public, in PM, and in others way online for my posts on PW.

my longest driving was about 17 hours this december.....!!
we were going to sindh(sangarh) for hunting trip......started at night around 11pm from lahore and reached our destination in 17 hours...!
it normally takes about 12 hours but we got lost trying to take a short cut and got lost for about four hours!!! good thing we filled our tanks before taking the shortcut!!

we were on two SUVs 1- prado 2-landcruiser..!!

Wow! Going off track looking for a shortcut in Sindh in the middle of the night.. I'd say the good thing was nothing unfortunate happened with you. Probably because of your SUVs.

Did Houston to Chicago in one go ..... back in 2003 summer in Isuzu Trooper almost zero meter ...... It took 19 hours .... breaks for fill ups, tea coffee, and washrooms. I remember not having proper meal as that causes somnolence.
But hats off to people doing such hours in Pakistan, as in foreign countries (e.g USA/Canada) you dont get that tired because of nice roads and driving styles.
And yea as per my experience, after 6 to 7 hrs of contd driving at night, when you see your reflection in side window ...... you think for a second as someone is accompanying u ...... hahahhaha .... might be only my thinking
while the last couple of hundreds miles, you try ur best to accelerate as much as u can to finish the journey.
