How to avoid body rusting?

Dear Friends,

In your opinion, what are the ways to avoid car body to be rusted specially in rain sessinos. Is there any long term solution of this problem. And if there is some rust on the body, how to clean it and bring the body in the original condition?

coastal areas will always be facing these problems..i think washing ur car regularly with some car wash liquid might help..

1. Get your car painted with anti-rust paint from the bottom and under the fenders (there are many different types of such paints available in the market).

2. Use Anti-Rust electronic device (successfully used in US navy ships and civilian cars). Google "electronic anti-rust device" and you will get to know the story.

3. Get your car serviced every month, and after the service ask the service man to get your car bottom sprayed with oil/diesel (very effective & convenient).

to trear the rusted areas ther eare chemical solutions which change the rust into a more solid state and then it can be painted over without the rust coming back in the same area.

just remember that rust is like an infection, if you just paint over it, it will not go away. It needs to be removed or treated.

i've heard from someone that spraying diesel under the body is harmful..

Agreed. Almost all mineral oils are harmful to suspension bushes and rubber / plastic fittings under your car. Best to go for the anti-rust paint option.

ITs somewhat become common practice esp in Pakistan. Everyone who goes for car servicing instructs the Service-man to spray oil under the car for rust protection!

make sure no paint is peeled off. rust doesnt come on paint

rust convertor is your saviour - mix with water and apply let dry - when hard and black paint over it, wont rust for its life.

never never never apply engine oil or diesel fuel to the undercarriage if you wish to own the car for more than 2 years

I have always found your comments really helpful.
I was wondering if you would kindly comment on the following observation of mine
When we spray diesel on the undercarriage, it is supposed to stop rusting. The problem is that it may damage rubber seals and bushings etc. But these rubber components are much cheaper to replace/repair than reparing a rusted undercarriage. So, on the face of things, spraying diesel under the car saves more money than it costs in the form of damaged rubber components.

try anti-rusting solution which is already told by sherdil but donot put Oil below your car, because after wards the dust will be attract to diesel/oil and if your cars has all four abs disc brakes, then the oil will be acting like a sand paper to your car.

And if iam worng then iam sorry because iam not an expert just a car lover boy.

never spray engine oil/diesel on the base of the car after service, coz it seriously affects the suspension bushes and shortens their life.

but gari kay nechay agar diesl na merwaien to gari soft nai hoti... nechay ki bbody pe sirf anti rusting solution merwaya gaie??
