How to Install a Relay or a Cut Out

ive got BOSCH horns for my Vitz as it genuinly has a Single horn so i think their isnt enuff current to create the correct sound, so could any one guide me how can i install a CUT OUT or RELAY as it has four wires i dunt noe wat goes where

or if sum one could share a Wiring Diagram,

BTW, Vitz orignaly has one wire coming from the battery Earth has to given by the Body of the car

i is a 10 min job for an electrician, i asked the guy how to put a relay sometime back but i cant recall it now.

vitz already had cutout instaled , i fixed bosh horns on orginal wiring

@feezy, ure rite it has i chkd with the fuse Box but sum how i feel the sound isnt enuff, may the location isnt okay

theres no place to install them expect with the Shock obsorber thing, where have u installed them

yes the vitz already has a cut out. almost all cars have cutots installed now, but they don't seem to be able to coup with the heavy demanding horns. if u use a simple single horn it would work. however if its a double horn (one with the high note and the other with the low) then u definitely have to get another cutout installed.

I am quite surprised why no one has replied to your simple querry with a-to-the-point answer.

Sorry to say but I dont think very many people with tech know how grace these pages or care to share their knowledge.

At the risk of being labelled at belonging to the latter category let me elaborate:

In general a relay is used when the existing wiring cannot handle the current requirement for the load (horn, headlights, starter motor etc etc) required.

The four connections are explained as follows.

1. Negative/ ground. This may be earthed very near to the relay or at a point a bit far away.

2. To the load. This is the positive terminal for the load.

3. Positive from the battery. Via a dedicated wire which can handle a good current.

4. From the command input, in this case the horn button circuit.

   The four terminals would have desgnated codes on them. Do let us know what they are and then I can guide you with the identification of each.

and the thing u said that, well sumtimes i also get angry and think lets jst google abt every thing, who needs PAKWHEELS but at the end of the day v are here to Share all our car related Queries, DIY,s Etc

 Waiting for your response.

 If you have not thrown the packaging, you will see a circuit diagram on it. There may be a small instuction manual like paper included. 

Please scan the diagram and post or alternatively snap pics of the diagram and a good close up of the relay terminals and post here.

I complained keeping in mind the fact that the VAST majority of people here post stupid replies to all kinds of lame threads, discussing if Corolla is faster than a Civic and what not but fail to provide and ounce of info in real threads like these.

im so sorry, ive been busy with studies, and im kinda care less my self il be doing that maximum by tomorow insha Allah, if my Dad dosnt take my car, coz i need to get his car servicd.

but im a lil confused, u want me to give u the close ups of the orignal relay and wiring diagram or of an after market one??

Its ok, please take your time on this as and when your schedule allows.

I feared you had gone to an electrician for the '10 minute job'.

In your first post you said your car has an original horn which has one wire going to it and earth is given to the body of the car.

Waht I undertand from this is its a one terminal horn and the earth is taken up by the bracket attaching the horn to the body.

For most if not all electrical components in an automobile, ground is taken from the cars body. If you have a keen eye you might have noticed the negative terminal in a car being attached to the body.

Does your original horn have a relay???

Tons of pics here wont hurt anyone. It would be good if you post as many pics as possible both of the old setup and the new unit with the relay.

Hmmmmm

Thats a nice post from you. I agree to all the points you put across there. I remember myself puttin up a similar topic many moons ago and I had suggested that for spotted cars the topic must include the location. Although the mods agreed the idea was never followed. Its frustrating to open a thread titled 'ferrari spotted' and then realise it was in London. Sigh! I dont care if the ferrari was in London, I know it has tons. If it were in karachi I would be happy.

I guess Pakwheels is still in stages of infancy and InshAllah we would rise having more mature members.

I do see a lot of controversial topics and comments but choose to shut up as i would only end up burning my own blood and people never care to apologize, change or realise their mistake.

if i m not wrong you have not correctly installed them,the person in Shershah from which i bought my horn told me that both horns should be installed facing each other to get the required tone and the louder sound where as your horns are placed opposite to each other.
