changing tires will only help for time being when there are less people in car.
for permanent solution you have to put spacers and bigger tires both. i have experience of many jdm cars and i am telling you what i have learned the hard way after experimenting a lot on my cars.
spacers do not ruin the suspension, yes the ride quality and softness of the car will be effected a little bit only i would say 5%. but that is also covered if you also put bigger tires. bigger tires work as little shock absorbers and better road grip.
its much better to do it now then to wait until you car hits from bottom and cause bigger damage.
