my alto tune time is due and i can feel its consuming a lot more but i never do hyper miling as where i live its pedal to the metal

changing gear at low rpm makes car lug..better accelerate at easy pace till 2.5k rpm... ive khyber which does 150 approx in 550-600 worth of cng in city with AC,on long,longest ive achieved is 210 with AC and 5 person on board on GT road... i know khyber is 1.0 but my car is givin better mileage than cultuses.. you should try this too

but u can see many times i have reached almost 160kms... I accelerate all my cars like a rocket

i have a vti oriel prosmatic 04 and i am using cng
these days i am driving it under 2k rpm at all times with/without ac
when i get an open road where i can speed,then i take rpm to 3k max until it reaches 80 speed n then again i keep at 2k or under 2k rpm,so i want to know how much cng do i save by doing so,because if i am really saving something worth it then i'll continue this way otherwise its really hard for me not to floor it n keep it under 2k rpm though once it reaches speed of 80 then keeping it under 2k rpm is no big deal

last time i filled cng for 600rs n it gave around 96 or 97km i guess

baleno start dussa n liana under 2 k rpm:-!
n 2nd swap ur pros with 1.5 steer at even 100km/h in 7th gear rpm will b round about 2k:o enjoy the economy plus the response of flooring the rite most pedal:-#:-#

so it was highway mileage
well even i got around 130km + reserve on half tank of driving on motorway n other half in city

@chaudhry9... bro by AC tuning i mean gas adjustment... For AC the mechanics adjust the car gas setting so that more gas goes to the engine has there is no lack of power feeling...

otherwise the car is good in pick without AC and give good mileage but when AC is turned on the car's acceleration gets very heavy.. I am talking abt Alto only.. On Altis I keep the same setting and there is hardly any difference... Maybe due to the role of advancer and emulator but im not sure!

last time i got cng filled for 618rs
now i kept first shifts at 3-4k rpm
2nd at 3k rpm n then at 2k rpm mostly but sometimes i kept it at 2k rpm all the time n took off the foot from race completely 1-2km b4 the signals
used ac today only for 4-5km of which 2km were with full ac speed,floored it today till 4k rpm on kashmir highway n took it till 120 finally because it got on reserve at 76km :o
got cng filled on reserve today for 630rs 7.35kg,now what the hell happened here,i get 100km atleast even if i floor it hard n this time i didnt even went above 4k rpm except for today in 1 or 2 shifts :S

i dont like shape of city 2003-2008 n it lacks abs otherwise seriously i would have thought about it

mine is also 11 and it used to give very bad avg on petrol i used to drive in 5th gear with little acclerator pressed then its got FF cng so tuned it from dealership and with A/C it was giving 160+ in city and 220KM on long with A/C i was really impressed went from peshawar tp islamabad no problemo then after some time some servise wala i think while washing engine bay messed up the CNG idle screw then i adjusted it my self but still can't get that millage its giving me 100 with ac in local then i saw where i filled CNG pressure was 180 now every CNG station has upgraded comperessor so its gone to 120 but still not 165 with ac and traffic here is insane u got to be crazy accelrate qucik then brake to get out of rush

Hypermilling on CNG? Seriously dude?
Hypermilling is best applicable on petrol cars.
On CNG. you will only get 5-6 more km's to drive with hypermilling. Then what's the use of it on CNG.
My advise. Floor it on CNG considerably. Try hypermilling tricks when u drive ur car on petrol.

Basically your method of driving would never give you good figures. Hypermillers never change gears at more than 2000 rpm. If you are accelerating hard in first gears than you are loosing a lot of fuel. I am myself a hypermiller and what I do is change gears at 1500 rpm and kept feather weight on the paddle and dont ever put 5th gear in city. This way I am in the 4th gear at 50 and I can drive it till 80. Because this way it takes atleast a mile to reach 80 but if I do like. Change 1st gear at 4000rpm i.e 30-35km/hr 2nd gear at 4000rpm i.e 55-60 km/hr and change 3rd gear at 3500 rpm i.e 80km/hr I will reach 80 km/hr in half a mile. Now think yourself that reaching 80km/hr in half a mile will consume more energy or covering it in a mile. And if you accelerate slowly you dont have to do hard braking which saves a lot of fuel. So before experimenting hypermilling and cursing your car learn how to save fuel. Drive your car thinking it has no brakes that way you will drive it like an old buffalo which will save a lot of fuel

Read my reply to your post in honda city fan club. At 230-240 psi pressure this hypermiller got atleast 10kg of gas. that makes his average to 25km/kg at 80km/hr. Well I know a person and have seen him doing it with my eyes he gets 25km/kg of gas in his city idsi at around 100km/hr with Ac on and atleast 5 people on board and trunk full of lugguage. Most probably this guy was without and passenger and much lugguage. So its no wonder it would have been great if he had achieved 30km/kg with AC at speed of around 90km/hr. 25km/kg at speed of 80 is nothing

you missed my post where i had been doing lots of effort keeping the car at 2k rpm,really it was very hard on me where i love to floor the car,u picked up the post where i changed driving style for this cylinder
keeping car at 2k rpm seems like a turtle esp for first 2-3 shifts
once i reach 60-80 then 2k rpm is like no issue
n i havent been doing like u said
it was like 1st shift at 4k rpm,reached 40
2nd shift at 3k rpm,reached 80,then just drive it at 2k rpm
i dont do hard brakes,instead i take off the foot from race n let it slow down esp when signals are approaching since i cant do neutral shift
but i guess shifting at 4k in first shift is hard on fuel since its auto as well
i cant shift at 1.5k rpm since its auto
so i guess never exceed 3k rpm for first shifts atleast

i didnt read that guy got 10kg gas,i never got 9kg gas,n now a days em not even getting 8kg gas,so i guess then my mileage is fine maybe
n as for getting reserve on 76,i guess it was low pressure thats why,thats a relief

Higher rpms mean engine has to rev more per minute thus more cycle of fuel burning actually to me the ultimate hypermilling technique is as follows. First of all try to find out the rpms where your cars engine produces most torque. for example my car has it at 2800 rpm. This point is therotically the most optimal millage point but thats the case if you drive in 5th gear. Which means that if I drive my car in 5th gear at 2800 rpms I will get the most mileage. It is because torque helps the car to achieve a certain speed and hps than help the car to remain at this speed. So if I am driving at 2000rpm in 5th gear than my car would be struggling to keep up with the speed untill I floor it a little more.
Now the real life scenario is different you have to start the car from standstill so you cant continuously drive at 2800 rpm. Now it should be done as follows. Put the gear in 1st gear and start moving the car you should only feather weight the accelarator i.e 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and not like 1,5,10,15,20. Try to change the gears at lowest most rpms practicable. That way your car would be crawling on the road rather than running so it is easier to stop such car. When you have to stop hit the brakes as early as possible but not completely do it like this going at 60 saw something a little brake and the speed reduced to 40 if you have to stop completely hit the brakes completely or keep moving the car without touching the accelerator you may notice that as your speed reaches 20 the obstacle has cleared and you can move away. Now when moving again as you were in higher gear so downshift it to bring in the gear that matches the speed to rpms in the range of 1500-2000 and again featherweight the paddle. If you change your accelerating or braking habbits you will save a lot of fuel

well i never do hard braking
i press brake from a long distance slowing it down but i do more breaking at irregular roads,bumps,holes etc so now i have either stopped stopping completely at such irregular road points or keeping off the foot from accelerator as when u slow down n race again obviously that burns more fuel but those irregular roads cause damage to the car which would be more than the fuel saving

btw how to find out the torque n the rpm
i noticed that when i reach 80 or 100 n if i keep it under 2k rpm instead of 2 or 2.5k rpm speed starts coming down
btw as few members mentioned does hypermiling applies on petrol only?

n also as u mentioned change gears at lowest possible rpm,doesnt that puts burden on car like shifting gears at such low speed esp for 1600cc car,like dragging the car,i do get that feel when i shift at 2k rpm infact not even 2k but under 2k rpm n at 40 speed it feels like dragging the car not willing to move,it feels so slow

btw i focus more on road so i dont see too much at what rpm's it mostly shifts
