The nu engine being used worldwide is a different, atkinson cycle based engine g4nh. In pakistan the regular otto cycle g4na is used which was used in 5th gen elantra. I assume this is because atkinson cycle has high compression, leading to maybe knocking on regular fuel. I confirmed this engine on both tucson and elantra here, looking directly at the engine model code which is deeply hidden in the engine bay, down the bottom right of the engine.

Drove a relatives Elantra today. And is it just me or the interior feels really cheap/scratchy and also quite outdated?
I know the locally assembled japs are no exemplars of quality but this felt like a clear step down from corolla and civic.

And again this is my subjective opinion, others may feel differently. Please dont attack me.

They might've decreased quality for the delivery cars as the showroom cars felt a decent bit above corolla and civic in terms of quality. You never know with Nishat.

Interiors of all korean cars locally available except for the New Carnival looks like youre sitting in a 15 year old car.

They look outdated.
Interior of Civic and Corolla looks great and modern as compared to them

Respectfully disagree, Corolla interior is not at all modern. Civic on the other hand, has a great interior.

Bedford interior of corolla is not modern at all.
Where as civic yes it’s still has the best interior minus quality.

I also drove Elantra. Yes where there are hard plastics they don’t feel good at all and atleast doors should have had more soft touch plastics.

Ride of Elantra is quite good.
Engine has ample power and suspension is great as car handles good and absorbs bumps quite well.

Plz read the post again. I said as compared to the PKDM Koreans. Corolla interior is way better in looks than Elantra, etc.

Marzi hai bhaiyo. Behas ka faida ni.
Sportage/Elantra/Tucson/Sorento all have interior looks from the 2000s.
By no angle they look like 2021 cars on the inside.

Brother looks are subjective. No need to convince everyone to look through your eyes when everyone has his own. Futuristic or not there is always an element of design philosophy, can be vintage, classic, modern or futuristic.

I see a lot of Tucsons in Lahore, daily on the canal as well in the Gulberg area which is quite good for a new entrant in a country like Pakistan. More so, when the manufacturer has partnered with the worst possible local company, 'Nishat' in this case. Not as much as the number of Kia's Sportage though.

Regarding Elantra, given that it is considered a semi-premium sedan (like Civic) in Pakistan, the numbers are quite good tbh.

Currently, Civic has the most stylish shape according to my opinion and Elantra definitely comes as a close second.
Whereas, Corolla lacks behind in both the exterior and interior looks.
