For us whichever country is worst is the benchmark.

I believe this is largely in response to those idiots who say Government should intervene/enforce price control and ensure every Pakistani gets a vehicle at affordable rate. They fail to grasp the concept of free market and other economic factors. Obviously these companies are "for profit"concerns they are not running charities.

What state needs to do is fix their economy, as they say tide raises all boats, when the economy booms it will effect every citizen, and state can facilitate new entrants, allow competition instead of collusion of existing players. Cars are not flour and sugar that state must ensure there is fixed price (this gov is even failing at that)

State itself is no less thieving than the colluding auto makers because they have exorbitant taxes and import duties. I like your idea that if we suck at making something we should import it, its the age of specialization.

We have already missed the industrialization boat and I don't think even with our cheap labor we can compete with China and other Asian countries.

I do, however, believe that Lucky group is way more proactive and intelligent in its handling of a new brand not only compared to Nishat but also compared to numerous outside the big 3 who have had an attempt at Pakistans auto market before, hoping the news of them bringing some newer models by year-end is true. Nishat groups thinking lines from what we have seen yet at least, look very much like the current big 3 :3

Yes expecting price control is foolish.
However, the amount of protection given to the auto sector is also ridiculous.

Also just look at what industries enjoy most protection. Not those that employ most labor or have export potential or are local cottage industries, but those that have the strongest lobbies. There is no ‘method to the madness’ here.

Besides just do a little bit of research on ‘import substitution’ policies and you’ll see that they havent ever worked anywhere and everybody except us has long given up on them.

Can recommend a bunch of really good articles on the subject (trade and protectionism in pakistan) if youre interested.

At this time they are really really very proactive in declining warranty claims and giving hassle and in some cases over 5 months now .. Another stuff is coming , under investigation at this time . Will share details.. Stay tuned

I don't know how many of you will agree but these companies should focus on a bit of quality.Secondly looking at our weather, dust and noise pollution how many of us will use the panoramic roof.Maybe couple of times to show off or when the weather is real pleasant.The point I am trying to make is that it would be better to give a quality head unit, good sound system with a tweeter and sub woofer and other things like blind spot warning, lane change warning, tire pressure check, collision warning some additional airbags etc.Essentially there must be four variants two each in manual and automatic, with a clear difference in price and the goodies offered.As regards the shape I think unless we see the car physically it would be difficult to decide.Its good Hyundai is giving Biege and Grey interiors so that one can have a better choice of combination with exterior.Kia's Sportage reversing and indicator lights have been placed more or less in the bumper.Visibilitywise as well as a small hit by even a motorbike will end up in a big financial hit for the owner.Right now my grading is 55 Hyundai and 45 Sportage.

Criticism for the purpose of good is appreciable, but if there is some other intent, we must not promote such a trend. Once an issue is established it should be discussed for the betterment of both the customer and the auto manufacturer. But this attitude that someone is always in a hunt to grab an issue/ non-issue to continuously defame/ malign the image especially of a new entrant in the industry is condemnable.

I suggest you discuss issues currently being faced by the Sportage owners with no apparent help from the dealerships. I have atleast 6 reported cases and in all those Dealeship declined the wattanty claimed and asked to pay 43K to mix the mirror.

Issues with coolant drop for no reason, issues with Sportage pulling to left with no solution is an ongoing problem faced by almost every other owner.

When I share something , it's with certain background and evidence. I have no time looking and searching for stuff. I have a full time job and other more important stuff to do. I have no personal agenda of any kid whatsoever. People reach out to me directly as I have wrote extensively on Civic issues in the past and in many cases it helped towards improvement.

I can tag dozen Sportage owners here and they will agree with me. I also recommend you join Sportage community with real owners and you will know more. I am not in hunt of anything , the situations arriving on it's own. I can share dozens of messages , images, video clips arriving to my inbox reflecting multiple issues, warranty claims and others.

Like for example the recent the windshield issue with leak where an unknown number of production went out of assembly line with expired sealant. Here you go

I am tagging @Docjunaid running the largest PKDM Sportage community group on social media and he can further share about the multiple issues people are facing and the level of support from dealership is some cases which includes certain cases of declined warranty claims.

Yes the exterior is much better than Kia Sportage. But people won't pay more than Sportage for it.

It's not even objectively better looking. Just subjective differences. Clean vs sporty.

And 6-7 million is absurd, no other way to spin it. It will NOT have much success unless priced competitively with the sportage, despite Mian Mansha's delusion.
