Ice on lower pressure AC Pipe HONDA CITY

This happens only on long drive.. what could be reasons? Honda is unable to diagnose cause and saying this is normal!!

I guess your txv valve is going nuts and also check refrigerant pressures. System should be properly evacuated and vacuumed then charged by weight.

Its a valve in evaporator core.

It happens when the superheat value is way less than the designed/required value. The reason behind it is the TxV is not able to properly control the amount of refrigerant entering the evaporative coil. In fact the valve is not able to properly restrict the refrigerant flow.

Txv should be replaced with new Honda item and refrigerant should be charged by weight.

Expansion valve is malfunctioning. I suppose another name for it is Txv. Whenever it malfunctions, either warm air is blown out or extreme cold air, without control. It will have to be replaced. Denso one costs not more than Rs.3500 but the gas will also have to be recharged.

This happened to my city too, its a fault with the temperature sensor which is located under the dash on the front passenger side dashboard get it changed. I forgot its proper name but yah happens in city this problem came in both of my city one was a 2009 model and the other was a 2014 one. Get it changed under warranty, it doesn't cost much its under 3k rupees

I have visited honda Shahra Faisal and they have changed thermostat valve two times but Problem still same?

Is temperature sensor is different?

Some how.. because if i turn Off AC for few seconds and again turn On this problem doesn't arise.

It’s very very strange to know about the facts. I had to face ice freezing problem on ac pipes same as shown in your pictures, I checked it 2-3 Times with 3S dealers and later they identified that lower discharge pipe of a/c had a leakage resulting ice freezing on pipes, I got it changed a/c discharge pipe under warranty claim and the problem is solved for now., I had got it claimed in March 2018., so far it’s working fine Alhamdolilah!

I have checked, the ac pipe does not freeze. Ill try to check more when this happens. Could be maybe gas is low, ill try to get it checked how much gas is there.
