Customs are really not "masoom"
One other option (that I strongly considered) is to import a used CSC RX3 variant from the US market. Brand-new CSC RX3 costs around $3900, used ones on Craigslist are available for $2500 or lower (this bike does not have a high resale in the US market).
A huge plus point is, previous owners have often added expensive things like $900 aluminum panniers and top-boxes, offroad wheels (also worth hundreds of $$$), or the Seat Concepts seat that CSC especially got designed by that company (worth $200). Famous riders like EveRide say they wouldn't ride bikes if it wasn't for Seat Concepts - it's just that comfortable of a seat to ride for longs hours, on-road and off-road. One person on Craigslist had spent $5700 on getting accessories for his RX3 and his asking price was around $3000.
I had an email thread with CSC and within a couple of emails I was in touch with Steve (the owner), they're all passionate about riding and the owner is very ready and willing to help customers (somewhat of a difference from when I emailed Zongshen wanting to import the RX3 directly from them, not good unless one has friends in China to go deal with them in-person). A downside of importing used from the US is one doesn't know what the condition of the bike is. I was considering shipping a $2500 bike back to CSC, and paying their mechanics to test it out (I actually wanted their mechanic to get on a quick Skype video call with me and the seller of the used RX3, because CSC's mechanic knew what to look for in the bike before I paid for+shipped it to CSC for maintainance).
I also looked into shipping rates from CSC (Los Angeles, US West coast) to Karachi based on the bike dimensions and weight into I got from CSC (getting a "shared" container is best to get a good rate, since the bike doesn't need the whole container some shippers want you to get) - 97" long x 45" tall x 36" wide, weighing 500 LBS, and the quotes on https://www.searates.com/shipping/request/ were around $500 dollars, and 1 month to get to Karachi.
Anyhow despite all this research, I personally decided not to get the RX3 for now (I still might, later), but I thought this info might be useful for others. For now, since I wanted the bike sooner (for a trip) I decided to go for the Fuego Tekken 250 that's immediately available, and I also wanted to not pay fairly bad currency conversion rates (and instead send by reference/hawala i.e. US person who wants to send money to someone in Pakistan, and I pay the amount that he wanted to send here, and he pays the $$$ amount I wanted to send there, so we both bypass terrible fees and bad bank charges&exchange rates) and that fell through for me.
Tekken 250 is air-cooled unlike the RX3(liquid-cooled), but on the flip side has arguably better offroading capabilities (less weight, and has shocks somewhat better oriented to offroad mountain tracks that I want to use it on). RX3 was still my first choice so I might replace the Tekken with it (or something like a used Suzuki v strom 250 which Suzuki released in response to RX3's success), if I get the opportunity.
US shipped used bikes are a good area of opportunity for us Pakistanis...
