Income Tax on Car registration refundable?

Please let me know if we can get the income tax charged on Car registration adjusted? I know for a fact that withholding tax can be adjusted and I have done that already, but what about the income tax paid?

Yes. But not the Professional or Token Tax. Advance Income Tax you can adjust with your total annual income tax liability.

please remember anything paid by a common tax payer to FBR / GOP is NOT - NOT REFUNDABLE but only ADJUSTABLE

ONLY exporters get refund using political pressures and arm twisting that too after paying some 'SHARE' to the people processing the refunds

ANYONE with a dream of GETTING REFUND shall be muscular enough to share if otherwise claim is accepted by FBR

Read refund as adjustable. Thats what i meant as I know how FBr works. Please see the attached snapshot, I am talking about the 4500 charged as income tax, this is not the advance tax or W.H tax.

This income tax mentioned in the payment slip you have shown is actually Advance Income Tax and is adjustable.

@ capsat bhai. Your expert opinion is required about a question from a colleague. If he has bought a car on own from open market and as per invoice which is in the name of first owner, full withholding tax was paid. Now my friend is a tax filer, is it possible for him to adjust the withholding tax paid by original or first owner.
How much will be my friend's registration cost? Since he will be getting the car registered.

For example: I paid 75k as WHT, got 36k adjusted this year from my employer and the rest of the 39k remained unadjusted. What should I do to have it adjusted in the next tax year ( after July 2017) too?

Adjustment too is useless - FBR is deducting at source and not considering any adjustable amount. Therefore one can only submit claim without any fruitful outcome.

I bought grande few weeks back on my own name. After i got the PBO i forwarded it my payroll deptt and they adjusted it in my salary.

I did the same, but my tax from july 2016 to Feb 2017 had already been deducted. Hence I can only adjust from March till June 2017 i.e. 36,000 rupees

Issue resolved. Asked from the accounts department. My car was delivered in February this year and I got all the 75k W.H.T adjusted last month, plus today I got the additional Rs. 4500 income tax adjusted as well. So the total 80k figure will be adjusted in my salary. It feels great when you see Rs. 0 as income tax charged on your salary although you already have paid it.

where ever words income tax , sale tax, withholding tax appear in any receipt generated by any authority , all such figures are ADJUSTABLE in your annual tax returns.

no sir, when you transfer & register the car in your name you have to pay the WHT and claim adjustment in yearly tax return.

I have purchased a car in August 2018 and paid WHT tax of Rs 50,000/- now is it possiable to adjust that amount agst my salary tax.

yes please provide the copy of tax payment receipt to your HR dept and they will do the needful, or you can seek an adjustment of tax in annual tax return.

there is NO REFUNDS .. but ADJUSTMENTS -
only Manufacturers & Exporters can claim refunds.
