Indus corolla 96 Issues

So i sold my Cultus and bought a 96 indus corolla. I bought the car with original exterior and interior but soon found out there was work in the engine and jumps. So far i have changed one of the jumps, ac compressor, clutch plate and pressure plate, accelerator cable, new water body and serviced radiator, Repaired the whole steering column as it was leaking oil and the rod was damaged as the steering made sounds on road bumps so in short ive tried to fix whatever i could find wrong with the car. But there are three issues my mechanic just cant figure out.

1. The issue is, when the car is cold and i switch on the ac and head lights and hit breaks, its fine. but after some time whenever i stop at a signal or slow the car down, its rpm drops and the engine oil light switches on, so whenever i slow down the car or hit breaks, the car wants to shut down, and i have to press the accelerator to keep the engine on.
2. Second issue is, i drive on cng and the car gear ratios are really small. by that i mean the car goes from 0-20 on first before making noise of as it has reached its optimum rpm, same situation for 2nd gear at 20-40, for 3rd its 40-60 and for fourth 60-80. is this normal behaviour? my cultus used to do 40-80 on third like a boss.
3. Third issue is when the low rpm issue starts, i feel heat beneath the driver seat, or maybe its just the ac not chilling anymore, and there's a slight burning smell that only i can feel on the driver side. the same burning smell is also there when i try to increase speed over 60 on 3rd gear with ac.

Are these issues interconnected? does any body have a clue whats wrong with the car. i dont want the mechanic to experiment anymore as i feel they dont have a clue. they all just keep telling me to change one thing or the other but the problem remains

first 02 issues might be related to cng and carb setting.
for the smell issue check exhaust pipe and its plate under the steering.

To elaborate, your car needs tuning, and your silencer needs to be checked

So all these issues seem to be because of setting issue? the car's giving me 8km/kg of cng on ac which i find ridiculously low, my cultus used to do 14/kg. i mean i know the engine is bigger but does it almost double the consumption?

A: The 1996 1.3 is a 2E 12 Valve Carb engine with plenty of vacuum tubes running across engine bay & the problems you are facing is purely related to CNG adjustments.

• if the CNG cylinder is not tested and emptied out for oil it is time you do so.

B: The heat under the driver seat., that is an exhaust pipe related problem.

• resolve in reverse order -

am not sure which city you are in but Jamshed road in Karachi has some real pro silencer shops they can fix the issue in under 45 minutes for reasonable amount including replacement of rubber hangers & hooks

• then visit a workshop of your choice in your town, in Karachi for CNG adjustment i'd recommend Jamil Autos at Shahrae Quaideen Society office signal 0300 923 2821 they can help

Well i had my cng kit and cylinder serviced out recently too, part of the things i did to get this car to optimum condition. The issue where car rpm was dropping is fixed now. It was due to break booster which was leaked so whenever i was pressing the booster, it was adding load and the rpm was dropping, dont know if that makes any sense but after changing the booster with a new one the issue is no longer there. Only issue left is the low gear ratio and bad cng average. The cars givign me 8km/KG with ac in city on cng and goes fron 0-20 on first, 20-40 on second, 40-60 on third, 60-80 on fourth, the range defines when i change the gear till when its starts to sound like it has reached high rpm's.

The cylinder has no oil now as it was emptied and kit is clean as new aswell, car's pick is excellent, just the fuel average sucks. And yes i live near Jamshed road Karachi.

If the acceleration is excellent, then why does it not cross 20 in first, or it does and you just don't take it there because of the noise?
Its on cng and a carby vehicle, these don't have any rpm limitations, check your silencer, your noise problem will reduce, then we can deal with your speed limit problem

I dont take it any further myself as it starts roaring, i drive with a light foot so i change gears as soon as the engine tell me to. The noise is not silencer kind of noise, its the type of noise that engine makes when its telling you to change gears.

i will visit Jamil Autos hopefully on weekend. Can you tell me what should be the average in cng with ac on a 55 cylinder on this car?

if the engine is in good health i.e all 4 cylinders have compression values above 160 psi -wet manual transmission car average shall be 100+km with ac, 90 km is average for auto transmission 1997 Indus

Will test it today evening on long route and will let you know, i hope its fixed because i think it had something to do with the rpm drop which is fixed now so lets see. The bad cng average, and small gear ratio problems are still there which i know of.

Yes its there, the odd smell and heat under the seat, i verified it while driving with ac, what i found out is it happens when i start reaching high rpms, and as you guys already know, my car in 3rd gear sounds like it has reached 80kmph when its in 60kmph lol

i just got cng venturi changed, local one was for 150/= , i got a better one for 500/= , told the cng guy to get me the best one as that might save me more money if it effects the mileage in long term. does cng venturi effect cng performance and milage? this is related to one of my initial questions for bad cng average

The noise on higher rpm can be due to ignition timing too advanced or tappets set too loose. Tell them to do the tappets to "8 number" and noise will reduce considerably.

Also, please don't compare with gear ratios of cultus. I've found cultus to have abnormally long ratios for a 1000cc engine.

For your short gear ratio problem, its pretty normal. 2E behaves like that on CNG. It does perform better on petrol tho.

Ohh i see, thanks for the info, so if thats normal only thing left is the burning smell with ac on high rpms and driver seat getting warm when this happens
