The fuel average, would be around 6-7 KM/L for a Type E A/T if you drive normally,
Getting no more then 5.5 type e a/t
although didnt calculate it frequently but still it drinks hella petrol

No dude normal petrol has alot of impurities and also a lower octane level.
Zulifiqar is a very experienced member, i can tell by his posts and would vouch for him.

If it is RX-8 Type S with manual transmission , then yes it can beat the crap out of corolla 1.8 and also accord 2.4

since RX8 owners are here, couple of questions from u folks

a very very low mileage RX8 experience, auction grade 4.5 (car was literally good as new)
mileage was only 10,000 kms
Oil semi synthetic shell (was wrong i know, mineral should have been used)

on a trip of isb-lhr-isb a day trip,
observation
(oil light was flickering)
when the car reached lhr, engine check light turned on.
when car returned, diagnosed, a coil was not giving full current, had to replace.

is it so sensitive ?

your first reaction to a flickering oil light should be to stop the car immediately and check oil level. Not travel all the way to another city and see whats up - the ignition coils usually fail because of high underhood temperatures, happens when the radiator snorkel shroud is broken or warped (not seated properly into the bumper)

TIPS ABOUT KEEPING YOUR RX-8 and RX-7 (ROTARY ENGINE HAPPY)

1. always put Hi-Octane fuel
2. let you car warm up first before driving
3. never shut off your rotary engine when it is cold , it will cause engine flood
4. use only non-synthetic oil for your car
5. change engine oil at 2500km or 3000km (i change it at 1500km for my RX-7)
6. always change oil filter when when changing engine oil
7. always top up your engine oil when you refuel your car (rotary=oil burn)
8. let the car rest for a while (2mins) before switching off the engine
9. rotary engines are rev happy by default
   10.red line your engine occasionally , rotary engine enjoys to be red lined

these are the 10 Tips which every RX-7 and RX-8 owner should follow , and if they follow it correctly i bet there will no premature rotary engine failure in Pakistan.

the owner panicked and called me
and i said, my 1972 beetle 1200, in summers extreme heat, the oil light used to flicker as well i came up with a logic that the car is getting kinda hot most probably due to abuse on motorway

Ashar, we had all the auction papers with us. the car was end to end scratchless.interior 10/10. i havent seen a cleaner rx8 then that.u know what a auction grade 4.5 car is like i am sure!

the owner floored it both ways(coming and going)
sadly the car was sold after one trip of lhr,(bought a second hand coil)

the speed limiter tripped at 189km/hr exactly 6 speed manual type s

He probably drank up all the oil and ovetheated the car doing that, no engine even the renesis would want to run on full rev for such a long time.

Sir not even a E92 330i with N54 and a Civic FD2 with K20 can beat a RX8 (R3) in hands of a good driver.

^ thats incorrect, the Fd2 and similar cars like euro-r tear it apart when the third gear kicks in. Rx8 only has an advantage in launch.

FD2 is the new civic Type R right ? ...... if it is then she is one mean car , the gears are too close and the engine constantly revs in the power band .

FD2 will own RX-8 R3 in drag race , but RX-8 R3 will winfrom FD2 in circuit battle , Hmmmm but still it will be a close race .

the only added thing you need is to put a litre or 750 ml of very good quality 2 stroke oil in the tank whenver you fill up petrol fully - and run the engine to redline at least once a week.

Other than that - dont use fully synthetic oil in its engine - the oil mixing is because Mazda had recalled all RX8s to increase the volume output of its oil injection pumps as they were causing the apex seals to chatter and sieze sometimes. As we dont have a Mazda dealership in Pakistan to do this - mix oil with fuel - 2 stroke is ashless oil hence keeps the exhaust clean without smelling like a ricksha

i don't remember exactly now..but i think i used to use 200-300ml in a tank which was more than enough and there was no white smoke or smell from the exhaust either.

The ratio is basically 10ml / liter. It is safe and doesn't cause smoke.
