any modern obdii compliant ECU- even old ones that used oxygen sensors have short and long term fuel trim, they alter the trim on the fly depending on the reading that they recieve from the O2 sensor and MAF etc...
if you trim out the injector duty cycle, it will cause constant updating of the short term trim in positive (due to lean out) and hence register a positive long term value too, The first task the ECU does is to take care of emmissions and to do that it needs to provide a precise air fuel ratio at all times.
modern cars with AF sensors instead of O2 sensors are even more quick in adjustment on the fly.
This item may work well in very early fuel injection systems.
