Dear Ocean, I am using a Solar system with 3000 watts of Panels and 5.0 kVA inverter. 4x Gel batteries of 200AH each. Apart from running two AC's, I am running 2 refrigerators, 1 LED/1 LCD TV, 8 fans, 20-30 LED lights, occasionally Iron, washing machine and oven. Plus Computer, scanner & printer on Solar.
Total cost at time of installation (Last Year) was 5 lakhs. System is a joy day and night and I am Alhamdulillah more than happy.

Dear Salim, I got it installed from Tesla PV.
And this is the beauty of Solar system, there are absolutely no maintenance costs per year. Unless of course your suffer some damages or in case the batteries need replacement.
You only have to clean the panels every 3/4 days in order to maintain the best efficiency.

The Pantera energy is also installing, the guy posting pics above, take quote from all of them and then get the system installed with MKS inverter and Gel batteries. They are the best.

Huzaifa dear, why do you suppose 3000 W (DC) can't handle above equipment when using 5 kVA inverter? Any solid reasons?



FYI I am attaching 3 photos here.

Photo 3 is after AC is just switched ON.
it can very well handle all the load brother. And I always keep a close eye on it.

The load which you wrote in your main post exceeds 3000w ,here you are jyst running 1.2KW !

I don't think so 3000w can handle all these things at one time! Hope you are not consuming wapda too much

& Huzaifa I forgot to mention earlier, but here I must mention that you have to use all equipment with "A" rating for energy efficiency. For example all lights have to be either LED, SMD OR COB, fans should be of SK or Lahore Fans (80 watt each), refrigerators and AC's should be inverter based. And wiring should be proper, no wire joints and wire should be of high quality. Like Pakistan Cables. And you'd be really surprised how less the load is. Luckily I have all above in order except the refrigerators are still not inverter based.

Now see the load yourself:

5x 80: 400 watts for fans
30x3: 90 watts for lights
2x80: 160 watts for TV
600 (average )x2: 1200 watts for 2 AC
140x2 : 280 watts for refrigerators
60 watt is the idle load (compared to 420 watts when the wiring was old and of low quality)

Now that is total 2190 watts only. Don't you think you can plug in an iron, computers and printers when you're producing 4000 watts???
Hope that makes the matters clear.

Plus as the ref and AC's are all time working so obviously the load is reduced when the temp is reached and obviously all fans are not running all the time. So there you go. Hope you get it now.

Yes Huzaifa, read my post above.... The load is a not always the max as everything is obviously not running all the time. And once the AC's reach set temperature they are merely consuming 300 watts each. On 3000 watts panels I have 5 kVA inverter producing 4000 watts of alternating current (Actually a little more than that) I have given you load distribution above you can very easily run all the equipment that I mentioned. And my dear, every thing is NOT running all the time, the max load that I have observed on my system is 2.5 kVA. As many things are off or don't consume that much energy as they would once they restart after load shedding.

& Huzaifa dear, kindly check on Internet and calculate yourself how much AC wattage can be produced form DC wattage of 3000 W. I don't understand dear why are you stuck at the figure of 3000 watts? The panels are most of the time producing even less wattage than 1700 W specially at the end or the beginning of the day. But it's enough to charge batteries and give me the comfort that I need.

Huxaifa dear. I disagree with your statement here brother. My inverter AC 1 ton consumes 880 at startup and 1.5? Ton consumes 1020 watt at start up. These are Gree ones. And one temperature is achieved both settle at 350-400 watts each. I know all other inverter AC's except Mitsubishi consumes more power.
And there's no power spike at startup.
I have been very careful Huzaifa in putting the load. And all load has been systematically increased and calculated.
What kind of system are you using? And what capacity inverter is used? Make of AC's and kind of load on your system. Can you elaborate? 6.6 kW system is quite capable one. Why haven't you made full use of it? Much of the energy produced is getting wasted I suppose.
And yes I know 3000 watt panels don't always produce that much. I posted it in one of my posts.

And Huzaifa as you can see from photos above that my 1 ton AC started up at 600 watts (depending upon temp). These photos were instantly clicked as I started my AC

Bro , yes the inverter A/C's start slowly!
But if the temperature difference is too much a 1.5 ton AC goes to its max which is around 1800 W and same is the case with 1 ton!
At the moment the energy is being wasted and i can not do anything because there is no net metering option available :(!
My dad went to China , so as soon as he comes back we're going to install an Ac too

But our system is also divided in two portions
1) 2 portions on 3.3 kW
2) Our portion , 2250 W

Rest some panels are yet to be installed!
In near future we'll extend it till 10KW

1) kVA or Watt capacity of inverter.
2) And when you're mentioning watts here what exactly are you referring to? The wattage is of Panels or inverter.
3) Maker of inverters.
4) Kind of charge controllers, MPPT or the normal ones
5) & whether charge controllers are built into inverter or separate.

Your present load is too less for your systems. For 3000W panels a 5.0 kVA inverter should be used and can take a lot of load. Our aim should be to maximise the usage of what we're producing and take maximum benefit of our hard earned and well spent money. The life of system will depreciate with every passing day and unfortunately despite announcing LESCO is still unable to provide meters that can feed your energy back to grid and make full use of the energy produced by flowing reading in reverse.
However we can use all of what we're producing at least.
My idea is also to increase 3000 W panels and install another 5 kVA inverter. Thence synchronise both and put further load by using non-inverter AC's as well.

It can handle 4500w (Panels input)
By 3000 w i means panels capacity
It has built in MPPt charge controller!
My dad says instead of buying inverter ac of worth 90-110k etc , why not add more panels and run the currently installed normal AC's ? You can install 1300 watt panels which would generate around 1000 W (After conversions) etc
So in this way we'll save the wasted energy too

Thanks - i will contact them soon. can you please let me have estimated cost of batteries plus when these are required to be changed. Do these batteries need some maintenance during operation or they are sealed type? Plus does the solar system is safe enough to be installed at a house i mean required over/ under voltage, current protections are there? Thanks bro for your time. Regards. salim
