Panasonic is an OEM manufacturer of AC compressors and supplier. Popular brands including Dawlance, Haier, Kenwood, Orient etc buy compressors made by Panasonic and install them inside their own air conditioners. So yes Air conditioners manufactured by Panasonic itself can beat AC units produced by Mitsubishi and Acson. But I have no idea about their after sale service in Pakistan.

Some advice is needed. I possibly need an AC for the lounge area, top floor. It will only be used maybe for an hour or 2 daily when the kids are playing there.

Is there any advantage of getting an inverter? I believe a normal AC would be sufficient as it won't be run long enough to maintain a set temperature.

Nice info shared.. i honestly was sold by looking at grees latest outer unit.. the wifi option is indeed v helpful.. the vents movement is also a plus and now their remote looks v decent unlike their old silver cheap ones. Overall its working great..lets see how long it lasts and what difference in electricity bill i get.

I am also thinking to buy a 2 ton inverter AC for a top floor room which is 25x15. It currently has 1.5 ton Electrolux AC but during peak summer months the room is an oven and if the AC is turned off for even 10 minutes the room temperature is unbearable. So I need a bigger AC with more cooling capacity. Which inverter would fit this scenario? From above comments it looks like Gree has good cooling capacity even with 1.5 tons. How's it 2 ton?
I was thinking about buying Panasonic 2 ton but after reading comments here I am also considering Gree. I have a regular 1.5 ton Panasonic and it's air throw and cooling is very good. I have seen Panasonic 2 ton invertor in my relative's house and it's cooling is also awesome so I am inclined towards it. My main requirement is maximum cooling a 2 ton inverter AC could offer plus I also want to run it on Generator. Which one consumes less power? Gree or Panasonic? I have also heard about LG double inverter and they are offering 10 years warranty. Any feedback on it?

Don't buy Gree. If you want to buy china then buy haier or orient because they are all the same. I have 1.5 Gree Vilola and a 8 years old 1.5 ton haier. Seriously I can't tell the difference in terms of cooling.

According your situation inverter AC won't get you much saving. Get a 2 ton conventional AC and save money upfront.

Here is why, so it's big room which gets hot when power goes out you need some thing that brings the temp of the room really down like 22, only then it might survive 1 hour power outage. So your Inverter AC will be running at full power the whole time most probably to reach 22.

If you are going to use generator during power outages then Inverter is fine. Setting temperature at 26 might bring down the amps to 4-5 after an hour or so.

LG dual inverter ACs looks good. I only found out about them after I had bought viola or else I'd have bought LG, next time for sure.

Now the important thing. They all consume similar power. Inverter ACs slow down only when the desired temperature is reached and if the desired temperature is set too low, it won't slow down even if the desired temperature is reached because it has to do a lot of work to maintain that temperature.

Review: Gree LOMO LM4 1.5 ton

My office is a big 700sqft Hall at top floor gets baked by direct sunlight form 3 directions. I have put a thermometer inside and it gets as hot as 35-38C depending on the temperature outside.

I installed this AC a month ago to see if it could bring down the temperature to 28C, if not I planned to put another 1.5 ton. 28C is cool enough for me.

I have been testing it for the past month and here's what I have found so far. It has great throw, specially on turbo mode. I can feel the cool air on the other end of the hall which is 25ft away. It generally brings down temperature by 4 degrees in one hour. It consumes 7.5 amps max at 230 volts, so about 1700-1750 watts.

Today when I turned it on, temperature was 35C, it brought it down to 32C degrees in first 25 mins, by 35th min it was 31C, by 45th it was 30C and buy 60th min it was still 30C. I doubt it will go lower than this, but I'll update this post if it did.

I definitely need another AC. I think a 2 ton inverter will be a good option. So there will be two ACs, one conventional 1.5 running at full load all the time, 2nd a bigger 2 ton inverter to quickly cool down the room and then slow down maybe to keep 28C.

I have already considered this scenario considering all these facts and that is why I didn't switch from conventional to inverter for 4-5 years but now I need an AC for another room so I was thinking of buying a new one for this bigger room and moving current one to the new room. The reason why I am considering 2 ton inverter is that I run ACs on generator too so I was thinking if a 2 ton inverter consumes same power as a 1.5 ton conventional AC on peak load then I will definitely buy 2 ton inverter. I understand that this 2 ton inverter will have to work a lot to get the room temperature down but at least it will bring it down quickly. Secondly, if it consumes less power then I can run it on generator. That's why I am asking how much power a 2 ton inverter consumes and which one is better in terms of air flow and cooling. So if someone could give power break down of different inverters along with their cooling capacity then it will be helpful. I am considering Panasonic, Gree and LG. If Daikin or Acson is better I have no problem going for it.

Ascon hands down, i have been an advocate of gree in this thread but now i have acson 1.6 ton and 1.8 ton and i am really satisfied with the cooling and its performance. As per dealer acson and daikin is same no difference, I initially went to get daikin but they were short and acson was in stock,

Gree acs have less air throw compared to acson, grees turbo feature feels useless in front of acson.

I have the 1.8 ton inverter acson in my lounge which is 20x18 and when i turn ac on and put it on turbo mode it cools it in 30 mins.

I am not much conserned about saving so I haven't checked but i go feel there is significant difference because on gree i have it in turbo mode and it keep on running and running on full fan speed and even after hrs its still the same.. but acson stay on turbo mode for 15minutes and reaches the set temperature and go totally silent..

Its definitely worth the money.
After this experience i am also replacing existing gree acs with acson

At full load both inverter and non-inverter ACs consume the same power. I have noticed my Gree 1.5s going 9-10 amps under full load.

Can someone suggest how much current do Acson 1.6 and 1.8 ton draw once the set room temperature (say 28 degrees) is achieved? Orient and Gree 1.5 ton inverters come down to 2.2 amperes once set temperature is reached and both cost under Rs.70,000. Why would one go for Acson for about Rs.120,000 or more if it is also going to consume 2 ampere after reaching desired temperature? It may be that the maximum amperes that Acson consumes is less than 5A for 1.5 ton. If that is the case then it may make sense to go for Acson but not otherwise.

What is the exact model? I have heard that their alova vtih model consume more power. Is it correct?

There is no AC I know of that is 1.5 ton but consumes only 5 amps. That'd be an EER of 5.25. Most ACs in our market are between 3-3.4 even daikin, acson, lg etc

The difference could be in terms of timing like how quickly it reaches desired temperature let's say 25c or how low it could get the temperature. Daiken may cool down a room in 25 mins while an orient might take 30 mins.

That is my point that if Orient costs about Rs.60,000 and can cool a room to the same temperature in about 10 minutes more than an Acson or Daikin which are both above Rs.120,000, then why should one spend Rs.60,000 more upfront?

Secondly, some time back a specs picture for Acson 2 ton inverter was shared on this thread which shows a 2 ton inverter to be taking about 8.29Ampere maximum (see below)
