We have a Fotile exhaust hood, think it was around 60K, so its not cheap. Also my mom is satisfied with it in that there is no grease, black smoke etx buildup anywhere in the kitchen. We do have gas stove though.

Still, If we get AC serviced once a year, then AC should be fine?

simple water wont be able to clean the grease. we have to use degreaser/solvents for such cleaning

Keep in mind that electricity rates this year have increased drastically. Best is to note the meter reading at 8pm and then next morning at 8am. This will give you a good estimate for consumption.

If possible, an evaporative cooler can work better for kitchen, have an inlet duct and let warm air out through the window.
I have always wanted to have an AC or some cooling equipment for kitchen. Ladies spend a lot of hours in kitchen in scorching heat and humidity and its certainly worth their comfort if one can afford it.

Yes i am aware of the increase in electricity rates which is why i intend to see the units consumed during the same period last year to get some idea under similar usage.
And I do always think about seeing the units at night but than become too lazy to go downstairs and out of the house to check at meter pole. But today definitely i will do it.

Daikin offered 30% in May on non inverter 1 ton and 1.5 ton Ac. Is there anyone who availed that offer? If yes then how’s the performance??

Then you are already pretty much covered. Those range hoods are very very efficient. You will need 2 ton T3 split AC. Being overpowered, it will use less amps and also stay safer.

Once a month filter cleaning and once a year service would be sufficient.

It's best to start AC atleast 15-30 minutes before cooking session and in this way, AC takes very less load as well.

So Dawlance has Econo feature (Energy Saver Mode) vs Orient (which doesn't), both are in same price bracket. Quality wise which one is better? read few posts that Dawlance quality is bad?

Someone told me that changhong ruba inverter AC is really good. It uses max 3amp and cooling is very good. Anybody using this AC ?

2-3A is minimum value and is only achieved during night time, when the outside temperature is already 30-34C and AC is running at 26C for few (1-3) hours.

Inverter AC needs few hours (1-3) continuous operation to lower amps from 8-6-4-2A. It's not that quick to drop down to 2-3A as most people claim here so. It takes time.

During peak temperatures (day time), they will consume minimum 4-6A and if it's T3 (52C rated or higher), they will further lower down to 3-4A, that too after atleast 2-3 hours of continuous operation.

What exactly is econo? If it just keep running the compressor at a lower speed than its same as setting a higher temperature on your AC.

Secondly, dawlance is giving 12 years warranty so i will go for it. But do check if dawlance has LVS, anti-rust coating as these are very important features.

nop, my orient settles to 2.5A within an hour. Reason is that room is on ground floor and at back of the house so sunlight on room and outdoor unit. And i am talking about Lahore where temps last week were ~45

Ok so yesterday i took meter reading with and without AC. Apparently from 10Am to 9PM when no ACs were running but only 2 fans and 1 cooler (Super Asia with fridge TV, and dispenser), it consumed 5 units. At 9 PM one 1 ton orient inverter unit attached to my mother's room was turned on at 26 temp. At 11 PM i turned on my Dawalance 1.5 ton inverter Unit at 27 temp. Orient is turned off at 4 Am when my mother wakes up for namaz, and i tuned off mine at 8:15 today. I took meter reading again at 10 Am today. 15 units were consumed from 9 PM yesterday to 10 Am today.
If we look at the running time Orient is running for 7 hours and Dawalance is running for a little more than 9 hours consuming 14 units approx (1 unit difference because i checked meter reading almost 2 hours latter from when i turned off my AC).
Another thing that I calculated was the difference of units from last year similar month. Last year we were only using one 1ton non inverter unit under similar conditions meaning around 9 to 10 hours and between Ramazan a bit longer during evening. the total unit consumed were 597 with rest of the things same, meaning 1 room cooler, fridge ups etc. This year in this month although the bill hasnt been generated but considering 15th is the date for meter reading up till now 675 units have been consumed. Till 15th I am expecting it to go to 690 approx. Meaning approx 100 units have been added to my bill with the addition of 1.5 ton (1 ton new and .5 ton to my room). Rest of the things are constant apart from a water dispenser but i dont think it consumes too much.

Let me know how do you guys feel if this is ok or on the higher side or lower side.

dawlance has LVS

Dawalance does have LVS and in built stabilizer. It can start at 155 voltage.

15 units for 2 ACs is perfectly fine. I have 1 1.5T orient and overnight, with a fridge and a ceiling fan, meter reads 8-10 units of consumption. If your rooms are on ground floor, you should keep ACs at 28 and turn on the ceiling fan. I have tested 28 with fan consumes less units than 26 without fan. If on top floor, its better to run AC only.

Its on first floor and dawalance isnt even in shade. I mean the outdoor.

“Eco Mode” that runs AC on lower amps. From my rasearch only Dawlance, Sharp and Panasonic have eco modes. Dawlance is cheapest but not sure about quality.

Reason I want Eco mode is that we can run it on low amps in kitchen, that way ladies will get cool air flow on them and feel comfortable. I dont think the AC will be able to cool the kitchen down with food being cooked/stove heat, so running in eco mode seems like the better option
