No. Not necessarily. There are videos on youtube how to do that. If pressure washer is not available, use pressurized canisters (may the ones used for spraying pesticides, with manual pump). The water can be collected in a plastic bag.

you don't need pressurized water for a thorough clean. Use a soapy luke warm water to loosen up the dirt, and then use a soft bristles brush to remove the gunk. Rinse with water again. Preferably remove coils so you can do it easily but can be done without removing coils.
I did it the other day on my old sabro AC. I suppose its the same for all indoors.

That's true. Pressurized water, though, cleans the fins and blower better than anything else. Blower is specially difficult to clean if not removed entirely.

I wanted to give feedback after actually using the AC for some time. So the maximum day time temperature till now was 44 degree. I have to say I am very satisfied so far with it. The cooling is really great this is the first inverter AC at my home so comparing it with my previous 1.5 ton non inverter kenwood. Cooling and rate of cooling is much superior to my prior AC. Has decent amount of functions. It is really really quiet have yet to hear its compressor even after standing next to the window where its installed just above outside.

To give a perspective I used to run my previous AC at 25 usually sometimes 24 and occasionally 26 as I liked a little bit of chill. Now I started with 26 and on waking up I actually felt cold so been running it at 27 extremely comfortable. Even my mom has commented that room remains cold even after turning off the AC just like the old window ACs. I just bought a clamp meter today to measure its consumption so can give further feedback. Weather has turned good so may wait for a hot day to do measurements.

TL;DR Extremely satisfied with the AC that got another one for the other most used room. Hoping the bill show some decent savings as well.

How to get rid of the bad smell coming when the AC is turned on.

Its probably cuz of moisture / mold on your blower evap fins / coils, filter etc. Wash the inner unit, wash filters and it should be fine.

Does the water drip correctly from drain pipe? There might be a water pocket causing smell due to wrong drain pipe alignment or wrong indoor alignment.

i have got the similar issue, does it happen to new ACs as well after a use of 2 weeks???
initially there was no smell. but now, when AC is turned on, usually when fan is running or even when the cooling just starts, there is this light smell when you face into the blowing air, and vanishes and then again is felt when ac is to be turned off and switched to fan mode for some time. this smell is not strong or pungent but is like when something is being wait for so long like a wood n all. there is this thermocol fitting in the unit. it might be getting wet probably or as you said there may be some of water in drain pipe. also i noticed the drain water is not clean. i looks dirty though. i checked its TDS, it was around 250. i thought that its new AC and this condensed water might be some what at distiller end.
after 2 weeks of usage i cleaned the filters and also blowed the outer unit.
i don't think there is a need of thoroughly washing the inner unit by removing its plastic cover as its new. and as there stuff placed around the room, so it will be very cumbersome to wash. i can again clean the filters and use blower to release the superficial dust.
btw how to check if there is no pocket of water???

Electronics running other than AC:
1 fridge, 2 LEDs, 1 ps4, 3 fans, lights etc
So AC was consuming something around 600 watts at 2PM, temp set at 27 and cooling mode
I guess so far it's doing a great job

thats good. 600 watts is good.
but as i wrote above, at 27-28°C , it is in the start consuming 1400w to 1600w and within an hour, it comes down to 600-700w and only when it runs for whole night, it comes down to around 450w.
but when i set temp of say 24 or 25°C, it takes a lot of time cool down the room like 4-5 hours at 1400-1600w and when it achieves the set temp, it still takes more than 1000w to keep it cool. i wanted to if other inverter users are having similar experiences or not.
i know many factors affect this process.
but if outside temp is 46°C and room temp is 33-35°C and room size and insulation is good and you set temp of say 24 - 26°C, whatever you have set. then how much time is your AC taking to reach the desired temp with what power consumption and afterwards how much amps /watts it takes to maintain this temp???

and manual doesn't mention to charge more, it says if you fall or exceed the mentioned length then remove or fill the gas and mentioned length min: is 3 meters and max: is 20m. and tech also didn't suggested to top up. don't know why. i called him again after few days to check gas pressure. as they have this manifold gauge only. but he just checked the coldness of pipes only. i asked to check properly the pressure with manifold and but he said using manifold will result in escaping of some gas. so i didn't force him. does it btw???? does gas leaks while checking the pressure???

that would really helpful. it will surely tell that inverters are really saving the bills generally.
if conditions are that inverters only will save electricity if you ambient temp outside are less than 44 or say 50 and inside temp difference btw set temp and room temp must not be more that 5°C and set temp must not be below 27, otherwise it won't save any than non inverters. then this efficiency won't be countable for people living in areas with temp range of 46-52°C.

i must buy few more gadgets like proper temp sensor. i have this table clock with temp sensor. but i want to assess the outside temp, room and ac blowing air.
what do you use to assess the temp of blowing air??

Kick your technician where it herts the most. In your case pipe was extended without adding additional refregrent so it becomes low. Moreover it was not vacumed during installation that means pipes were having air in them when gas was released, extended pipes were having more volume of air so already low gas is polluted as now air is mixed in it. just washing filter isn't enough.

Call AC technicians. They will dismantle the indoor unit. Then clean and wash all the parts, including piping etc.

not at all. i do it every year with the ac installed in place. place a large plastic bag under the AC.

on daraz theres a wash bag available. import from china, that bag has a drain pipe hole in it, so you catch the dirty water and drain i properly with a drain pipe.

on my dawlance unit, the card is enclosed in a plastic frame that detaches from the inner unit with a single screw. i take off the blower motor and blade connectors, and wrap a plastic bag on the control card. then pressure wash the unit. just be carefull of the degree of the water. too much pressure can damage the fins.

best if you have a short gun. Karcher is obscenely expensive.

did semi install of the kenwood 1838s .

installed inner outer, partially did the wiring. have not opened the gas due to no vacuum pump available as yet. will buy one and then start the ac.

installed AC bracket and switch board boxes

i hate steel nails, which ac installers normally use to hammer the bracket to the wall. so i used proper screws, plastic gitti. the screw is 1.5 inch stainless steel.

wires are held with clamps. the thick black wire is a left over 3 core, 2.5mm sq wire that came with haier AC. the black and red are 6mm sq, 7/0.0044 wire. the black and red wire will be connected to db, the black wire will be connected to the outer

on the right, is 10 year old kentax 1.5 ton unit, non inverter. NEVER repaired/gas charged or serviced in these 10 years, and still works absolutely fine. it was normally used for 2-3 months each year.
