Hey guys, there’s a lot of talk about “vacuum pump” that you do whilst installation of the A/C, I attempted to gain information on this matter but after talking to some people affiliated in this field, they have no idea.

So, how does “vacuum pump” work? What are the PROS and CONS of not doing it? Does the official tech team of a certain A/C company do that during the installation process?

Please, shed some light on this topic. I seem to get highly confused when I read people talking about it yet no one explaining how it is done.

Those who are facing issue of constantly choked coils or blower wheels should consider buying filter sheets and install them in your AC. The filters that come with AC are not good enough to filter thoroughly so even if you regularly clean them, coils and blower will still get dirty.

Such filter sheets are available on aliexpress and may be in local market

phone battery seems risky. ye walay cells b nh mil rhe mere yahan. i m getting these 3.7v 1800mah cells,they are rechargeable, i use them in torches. but they are lithium based. will it make much difference??

this happens too with me.
AC is 2 months old, 1.5 ton, samsung inverter.
its filter quality looks fine to me, but it does look like it is not sitting properly or say covering the evaporator at every point. and the blower is getting dirty, its fins have lots of dirt clinged to it. i tried to clean by removing the flap. but no brush or even my hand properly reach it. i also tried to use APC in spray bottle. it did clean better but excess water was leaking or say draining from an other place. so i stopped in the middle. after it, the uneven blowing of air did stop for a little longer than only cleaning the filters. but it has started again.
how does it gets that much dirty.

Its called pumping down refrigerant. I have never done it myself but i have seen technicians doing it. The idea is to close the liquid line valve and turn on compressor, the compressor sucks all refrigerant from pipes and evaporator coil from suction side and pumps it in to condenser. Once gauge reads 0, you shut off the compressor.

And where to find that liquid line valve. In most ACs there is only suction line valve.

Lithium ion cells should not be used in place of NiMh. You may order those NiMh batteries from daraz.

Also there are protected lithium ion batteries also available that you can safely use.

How many TCLs do you have? how are they doing so far?

Two

Running good so far.
Drop amperes to 1.7A.
Cooling is exceptional.

But there are some downsides as well. Like for example in 1.5 ton miracle series, indoor blower motor is AC despite of 4DC claim (i have not checked it personally. One person in this thread was claiming that he opened it and found it to be running on alternating current instead of DC)

Elite 1 ton remote is missing self clean button.

can we install stabilizer with inverter ac as i live in a village area where voltage is not stable fluctuates between 160-200V.

Yes. But get some branded stabilizer.

Does it show room temp in remote? Some people here mentioned this feature is missing in TCL remotes

No temperature is indicated. I got thermometer placed in room that shows temperature and humidity level. Much better than seeing temperature on remote after pressing buttons.

Guys I have a sabro non inverter AC that has stopped cooling. It starts fine and everything seems to be also ok, except that compressor doesn't turn on due to which it doesn't cool. Sometimes but rarely compressor starts and AC works perfectly fine afterwards. Even when it trips on achieving cooling, it fictions normally and compressor starts again normally when required. What could be issue? Indoor and outdoor both are clean.
Today for the first time I got error E4 on display but still the AC indoor/outdoor kept working except the compressor.

Weak capacitor may be.

Seems like weak capacitor. Check the old one and replace.

On the outdoor? Compressor one? It was replaced last year, I'll check again

Yups. Outdoor compressor one. Moreover also check outdoor fan. If it is too slow or no running at all, compressor will trip due heat up. Better replace out door fan's capacitor as well.

Fan runs fine. How to tell if capacitor is bad? Will the capacitance reading be off?
