Our existing copper lineset in wall has a bend so it cant be replaced with a new pipe easily.

Whats the proper procedure of flushing/cleaning copper pipes that were used with R22 (non-inverter) system to install a R410A (inverter) AC?

nitrogen purging is best, other wise, just vaccuum will be enough

One guy I asked said they just pour CTC into the pipe and then blow air using a refrigerator compressor. I don't think it will be good enough to force all the oil/contaminants out?

contact cleaner type fluids, that dry out completely can be used for flushing. but always vaccum or purge it.

Did some googling and right way seems like a solvent + purging using Nitrogen (pressurized) and finally vacuuming. Purging works well in blowing out all the contaminants, so is essential. Do you know any AC installer who knows how to do this properly?

just get a small nitrogen cylinder, with its hose if possible,

other wise just stick its outlet nozzle into the copper pipes one by one and give a good solid blast of nitrogen, by opening the valve of the cylinder.

after that just install the inner and outer units and pull a good vacuum.

Where do I get the nitrogen cylinder from? are they available in small size that I can easily carry in my car? How much do they cost?

You can buy them from AC refrigerants shop.

you should be able to get nitrogen from gas welding equipment shops.

Pls advise how do i clean the blower fan and the cooling coils in the indoor unit..... Recommend a reliable technician pls in Khi, Johar area.

First blow the dry dust off indoor unit. Then take a sprayer bottle and spray water on indoor coils. Wash the filters and you are good to go. That's what i always do.

You can also pour water on indoor coils with bottle to clean them.

Spraying or pouring water on coils from the top? Where would it go down to? Cleaning u mean wipe off the coils?

But actually main problem is of the blower fan, cause its not throwing air properly, but only from right side. I cannot feel air throw far away but only at my hand when i am touching the vent

Water is drained from drain pipe.

To clean blower properly you may need to remove that and wash that thoroughly.

How old is your AC?

I would still need a technician for this work, who has experience... I don't want to risk doing myself.

Can anyone recommend in Karachi johar area (or other) who can service/clean the in unit and check on the Gas and top it or fill it and ensures it doesn't loose gas every year.

I've ran into this odd issue with a 1 ton inverter.

It used to cool perfectly fine, would drop room temperature to even 23-24c.

Now, even if it's set to 20-22c mode, it can barely drop room temperature to 27.5-28c.

In both cases outside temp around 31-32c.

What could be the reason?

Previously if set to a low temp on AC like 22C, I could feel the compressor run at max speed/amp until set temp is reached.

Now it drops amp after just reaching room temp to 28c..when AC temp is set to as low as 20-22c.

So, max cooling isn't reached. Already checked gas, it's fine. Cleaning also done.

What else should I check? Indoor unit/evaporator coils are dark in color (blue/black, something like that). Not sure if it's called blue fin or something else.

Were you running it mostly at 27 - 28 C?
Inverter ACs usually remember previous temperature settings and run accordingly. This should not happen in reality but unfortunately chinese ACs do this.

Set temperature to 23 and then switch it off from remote. Then plug it off from switchboard. Turn it back on after 2 min. Repeat this process two or three times and probably AC would start acting normally. Works for me.

Yes mostly at that temperature previously.

There is emergency start button in indoor unit. You can find that after lifting indoor unit cover. Long press that to reset air conditioner and check again. Make sure to plug it off first then plug it in and then long press that button. Do not turn AC on from remote while doing this.

If this also does not work then final trick is to turn on turbo mode. That will for sure remove memory regarding temperature setting. Run AC for at least half an hour with turbo mode On. Turn that off and observe the behavior.
