Apparently, Daikin units don't trip even if the temp falls below the set temp. It keeps on running at minimum possible speed. May be its happening only with my unit, don't know for sure.

IMO if the compressor never trips, that's a bad design. What if you install an oversized unit or have better insulation so that ac minimum cooling output is more that that required to maintain a steady temperature. The temperature would keep falling if it doesn't trip.

Agreed. Compressor should trip if the temp falls below the set temp. I don't know if they have any limits beyond which it trips or it doesn't trip at all. I set it at 25C, in the morning the temp reads around 22C (on HTC 2 meter set at somewhat central location in room). May be AC's temp sensor reads differently. Anyways, it just consumes around 1.25 Amps so it doesn't bug me much.

Mitsubishi electric,original distributers in pak are orient.
1.5 ton is around 110k.very good option
Daiken,panasonic,mitsubishi.all are made in Thailand.
Samsung and sharp jtech are using microchannel fin condenser,so these 2 are not recommended in long term

Is this room on ground floor?
Put thermometer away from direct AC throw probably near a sidewall to measure actual temperature of room. It could actually be around 24 - 25C

Its on first floor. Temperature in Islamabad is already low these days and remains around 27 - 29C inside the room. The temp meter probably receives direct throw from AC. Anyways, I increased temp today to 26, 27, 29, 30C when it was showing 23.5C on temp meter. At 28/29, it fell to 0.6 Amps.

Can't recommend a reliable yet knowledgeable tech as I haven't found one myself in the past 5 years. I work with two who are marginally reliable but not very technical, eg. have no idea of vacuuming lines when installing AC's. They have the standard AC guy solutions like gas charge kara lein, service kara lein, theek ho jaey ga, etc etc.

Lol man no need to get angry. Just get any AC technician who has prior experience of installing inverter AC and get it installed.

Jis din ye qaum signal pr rookne lag gai us din aap ko kabil AC technician bhi mil jaen ge. Tab tak wait kren agar kr saktey hain to.

CyberPower.

It's a US brand and very reliable. I am using 2 of cyberpower inverters for past 10 years and not once i had to get them repaired. Not sure about current build quality but back than they were the best.

Inverex, Ecostar, Homage they all are rebranded Chinese inverters. Avoid Homage.

APC is overpriced and they are mostly refurbished that are sold here. So avoid them.

The CyberPower you get here is same chinese inverter. The US brand you are talking about has no presence in Pakistan.

Used APC for few days, went bad, got it changed twice but finally returned it. All of them come refurbished, lot ka mall. The new ones are extremely expensive, moreover they have to be modded to run as normal ups.
Someone suggested me to get hyundai.
Couldn't find inverex inverter. All they have are solar inverters.

aerox inverter 1.2 kw wala lay lo inverex ka.

its solar, but you can use it on battery only mode. also its pure sine wave. last i checked it was 25k.

You probably won't get a new APC or even if you find one, it will be too damn expensive. Mostly refurbished ones are available in market and are equally good, probably better than rest of the bunch. They mostly come in 'pure' sinewave form.

Anybody has Changhong Ruba SDH-18SW? When it turns on, for few minutes the outdoor unit/compressor makes loud humming noise - similar to when a truck passes, then it quiets down. Interesting thing is it only happens during the sunny part of the day, Not at all at night.

I had the unit installed in-front of me with proper vacuum so not sure whats wrong. No other AC in our house does this, only this one. Is this normal? The installer said the compressor is loud like Panasonic. Anyone with Panasonic care to comment?
