So after a usage of one summer season i.e. 2020, my TCL miracle started to give foul smells, when I started it last week.
Even I use to clean its filters every 3 days, I think filters are not somewhat of great quality in all these AC units these days.
Upon inspection, there was sort of fungal/mould accumulation on the blower fan, though evaporator wasn't that bad or choked. Blower was the main culprit for foul smell.
Talked to an AC guy, he said nothing needs to be done, you will get used to this smell after some time of usage. I was like "what is this behaviour mite?"
Somehow, my interal DIY keera aroused next day & I decided to clean/service the inner unit with pressure washer (I have one, for cars obviously).
I removed the top covers & casing along with fins carefully as it was my first time, it was easy job khair. Covered the circuit board with plastic bags.
And Hit that dirty mouldy blower fan with medium pressure settings. Alot of dark black grimy & mouldy water came out of drain pipe.
All these are BEFORE pics, didn't took aftershots as aftar time was approaching.
Alhamdolillah AC performance got much much better after this service of indoor unit, didn't felt the need to clean outdoor unit. No more smell, no more windy/seashore type noises from the blower.
P.s. no fins were bent during the whole process.
