I am posting out of topic here. One of our old lg refrigerator wasn't cooling upto the mark for several months. It's usage is limited like 2, 3 months or maybe max 6 months in one year. I called a technician and he claims that he works for a company and they are lg's authorized service provider. 1.5 years ago he worked on my LG Double Door side by side refrigerator and replaced the compressor with local one but he isn't accepting it. Today he checked our refrigerator and said the compressor is weak. The reason he said is the freezer section isn't making complete ice at the back. He removed the compressor. And will replace it with 2nd hand costing 12500 with gas and labour added and 3 months warranty. He said if there is a leakage, the gas should be leaked completely. He was saying brand new will cost 18500 with 1 year warranty. I don't know where he is sourcing the compressor.
In our double door, he has replaced the compressor with a generic one with no brand mentioned and the performance is average like it cannoot freeze a melted ice cream. I tried to convince him that its not the original but he said it's genuine and lg refrigerators came with different brands compressor. I feel like he is lying on everything but problem is no lg service center currently present in Pakistan.
